Botany Bay Road, Southampton - Temporary Road Closure due to Highway Maintenance Works

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in accordance with Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Southampton City Council intends to make the above Order.

1. The effect of the Order will be to close Botany Bay Road, from its junction with Portsmouth Road to its junction with Bay Road.

2. The Order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road. These works are highway maintenance works.

3. The alternative route will be via Portsmouth Road, Butts Road, South East Road.

4. The Order will come into force on 10th August 2026 and has a maximum duration of 18 months or until the completion of the works, whichever is sooner. It is currently expected that the works will take 3 weeks to complete.
