TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in accordance with Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Southampton City Council intends to make the above Order.
- The effect of the Order will be to close Bitterne Road West (eastbound carriageway), from its junction with Englefield Road to its junction with Rampart Road, between the hours of 20:00 – 06:00.
- The Order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road. These works are carriageway repairs.
- The alternative route will be via Northam Road, Six Dials, New Road, St Andrews Road, Charlotte Place, Dorset Street, Onslow Road, Bevois Valley Road, Thomas Lewis Way, St Denys Road, Cobden Bridge, Cobden Avenue, Bullar Road.
- The Order will come into force on 11th August 2026 and has a maximum duration of 18 months or until the completion of the works, whichever is sooner. It is currently expected that the works will take 1 day to complete.
