What is happening?
CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (FOOTPATH NOS. 113010 AND 113012 IN THE PARISH OF CUMWHITTON) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that due to the likelihood of danger due to a landslip and an unstable path surface, Cumberland Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit pedestrians from proceeding along the following sections of public footpaths:
1. an approx. 270 metre length of public footpath No. 113010 in the Parish of Cumwhitton between grid reference 351439 549467 and 351695 549513: and
2. an approx. 20 metre length of public footpath No. 113012 in the Parish of Cumwhitton between grid reference 351695 549513 and 351689 549531.
There is no suitable alternative route available for pedestrians.
This follows an emergency notice dated 6th July 2026.

The Order will come into operation on 27th July 2026 and may continue in force for a period of up to six months from that date as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
