CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (CYCLE TRACK/FOOTPATH NO. 109109 IN THE CITY OF CARLISLE) (MEMORIAL FOOTBRIDGE/CYCLE TRACK IN RICKERBY PARK) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS AND CYCLISTS) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Cumberland Council to carry out repairs to the bridge decking (“the Works”), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit pedestrians and cyclists from proceeding along the full length of Cycle Track/Public Footpath No. 109109 (Memorial Bridge) in the City of Carlisle, between grid references 340984 556468 and 341115 556415.
Suitable alternative routes for pedestrians and cyclists will be available via the surrounding footpaths and cycle tracks, as appropriate.

The Order will come into operation on 10 August 2026 and may continue in force for a period of up to six months from that date as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed, although it is anticipated that it will only be required for 2 weeks.
