AMENDMENT NO.3 ORDER 2026
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
Notice is hereby given that Southend-on-Sea City Council (hereinafter referred to as ‘the Council’), in exercise of its powers under Sections 84, 85 and 124 (and parts I, II and IV of Schedule 9) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the 1984 Act, has made the following Order.
a) The effect of the Order will be to introduce a 20mph Speed Limits in the following roads:
Road Name | Extent |
Wyatts Drive | Entire length of the road (from its junction with Woodgrange Drive to Colbert Avenue). |
Colbert Avenue | Entire length of the road (from Wyatts Drive to Burges Road). |
Burges Road | From Colbert Avenue to its junction with Thorpe Hall Avenue. |
The amendment shall come into operation on 27th July 2026 and may be cited as: The Southend-on-Sea City Council (Various Roads) (Moving Traffic and Speed Limit) Order 2025:

Copies of the Order, which will come into operation on 27th July 2026, the statement of reasons for making the Order and plans showing the affected streets can be inspected during normal office hours, inclusive for a period of six weeks from the date on which the Orders were made:

- At the Civic Centre, Victoria Avenue, Southend-on-Sea, SS2 6ER.
Any person desiring to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the relevant section of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with may, within six weeks from the date on which the Orders were made, make an application for the purpose to the High Court.
