What is happening?

(Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

Effect of the order: To temporarily close Footpath 29, Coggeshall in the District of Braintree, from its junction with St Peters Road, to its junction with Thimble Street for approximately 200 metres.

Diversion route: Thimble Street, Bayes Avenue, Colchester Road, St Peters Road and vice versa.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 03 August 2026 to 12 October 2026 where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting. The closure is required for the safety of the public to allow footpath improvement works.

The Order will come into effect on 03 August 2026 may continue in force for 6 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Stoneham Street, Coggeshall)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Stoneham Street, Coggeshall in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Queen Street for a distance of approximately 20m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 10th August 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD03166095630 – Anglian Water Business (National) Limited). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while remedial works are undertaken by Anglian Water Business (National) Limited.

An alternative route is available via Queen Street, Jaggards Road and vice versa (with access only into Stoneham Street).

The Order came into effect on 17th July 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
