What is happening?

THE LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(THE BAY SEASON 6 FILMING, MARINE ROAD WEST, HEYSHAM ROAD, SANDY LANDS, MORECAMBE, LANCASTER CITY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Lancashire County Council have made an Order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit any motor vehicle (except for event participants) from proceeding over those lengths of
i. Marine Road West, Morecambe from its junction with Alexandra Road to its junction with Heysham Road
ii. Heysham Road, Morecambe from its junction with Marine Road West to its junction with Sefton Road
iii. Sandy Lands, Morecambe from its junction with Marine Road West to its junction with Sefton Road.
Alternative routes for vehicular traffic and cyclists affected by the closures will be signed locally.
Access for buses and HGV will be maintained.
Access will be maintained via marshal points for residents and businesses.
The Police, Fire and Ambulance Services have been informed.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to enable the holding of The Bay Season 6 filming
The prohibition will be operative from 1100 hours until 1430 hours on Thursday 30th July 2026.
