What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(BEDFORD ROAD, MEPPERSHALL)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends

not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Bedford Road, Meppershall outside the industrial complex.

This temporary closure is required to enable carriageway patching work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place on 17 August 2026 between the hours of 0900 and 1530.. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure will be via A507, B659 and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 17 August 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(HIGH STREET, MEPPERSHALL)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of High Street, Meppershall between Crackle Hill Rd and Poppy Gardens.

This temporary closure is required to enable S278 work including Bellmouth Installation, Footpath refurbishment and gully installation works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 18 to 29 August The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure will be via A507, Greenway, Campton Rd, High St and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 18 August 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(GIRTFORD UNDERPASS, SANDY)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Girtford Underpass, Sandy.

This temporary closure is required to enable Structural hammer testing and concrete repair works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 17 to 19 August 2026 between the hours 2000 - 0600. The road will be closed at all times during this period. The alternative route for this closure will be via Georgetown Rd, A1, Sunderland Rd and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 17 August 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(SANDY ROAD, POTTON)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Sandy Road, Potton at the junction with Burmo Road.

This temporary closure is required to enable new electrical connection work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 3 to 9 August 2026. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure will be via B1042, A1, A6001, B1040 and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 3 August 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.
