What is happening?

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
SWALE AREA
A299 Thanet Way Slip, Graveney. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2026
To allow pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of A299 Thanet Way Slip, Graveney from 21:00 hours on 17th August 2026, with estimated completion by 05:00 hours on 18th August 2026, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed at the Junction 7 entrance onto the A299 Thanet Way, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for motorway traffic is via M2, J6 off slip, A251 Ashford Road, M2 J6 onslip and M2.
The alternative route for non motorway traffic is via A2 London Road, A2 Canterbury Road, Love Lane, Graveney Road and Thanet Way Slip.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Bradfield Avenue, Teynham. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2026
To allow pole installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Bradfield Avenue, Teynham from 19th August 2026, with estimated completion by 21st August 2026, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between numbers 92 and 100, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Bradfield Avenue. Residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Cryalls Lane & Borden Lane, Sittingbourne & Borden Lane, Borden. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & PEDESTRIANS) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2026
To allow Section 278 and associated utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic and pedestrians on part of Cryalls Lane & Borden Lane, Sittingbourne & Borden Lane, Borden in phases, from 3rd August 2026, with estimated completion by 18th December 2026, or until the works have been completed.
Borden Lane, Borden & Sittingbourne
Borden Lane will be closed from 3rd August 2025, with estimated completion by 8th August 2026, between the hours of 19:00 and 06:00 only.
The road will be closed between the junctions with Riddles Road and Auckland Drive, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via A2 London Road, Key Street, Key Street Roundabout, Chestnut Street, Maidstone Road, Oad Street, Pond Farm Road, The Street and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during this closure.
Cryalls Lane, Sittingbourne
Cryalls Lane will be closed to vehicles and pedestrians from 10th August 2026, with estimated completion by 18th December 2026.
The road will be closed between the junctions with Brisbane Avenue and Wises Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Wises Lane, The Street, Borden Lane, Adelaide Drive, Brisbane Avenue and vice versa.
The alternative route for pedestrians will be signed and displayed on site.
Cyprus Road, Faversham, ME13 8HG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2026
To allow gully works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Cyprus Road, Faversham from 3rd August 2026, with estimated completion by 21st August 2026, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between numbers 71 and 77, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Gordan Square, Westgate Road, Luton Road, Minster Road, Cyprus Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Harold Street, Queenborough, ME11 5BT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2026
To allow water pipe replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Harold Street, Queenborough from 17th August 2026, with estimated completion by 19th August 2026, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed at the junction with B2007 Main Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Harold Street, Stanley Avenue, B2007 Main Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
This closure is in conjunction with two-way lights on B2007 Main Road.
Harty Ferry Road, Leysdown. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2026
To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Harty Ferry Road, Leysdown from 6th August 2026 with estimated completion by 7th August 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed west of Elliots Farm House to approximately 200m north of the track leading to Mocketts Cottages, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Hempstead Lane, Tonge, ME9 9AF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2026
To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Hempstead Lane, Tonge from 21st August 2026 with estimated completion by 24th August 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of number 10, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Lower Road, Station Road, A2 London Road, Hempstead Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Perry Wood & Stonestile Lane, Selling. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2026
To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Perry Wood & Stonestile Lane, Selling from 4th August 2026 with estimated completion by 5th August 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.
Perry Wood will be closed approximately 40m north of Stanley Cottages, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
Stonestile Lane will be closed approximately 330m south of the junction with Selling Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
Only one road will be closed at any one time.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Beeches Road, Stonestile Lane, Selling Road, Perry Wood and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Rushett Lane, Norton, ME13 0SQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2026
To allow frame and cover works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Rushett Lane, Norton from 17th August 2026, with estimated completion by 21st August 2026, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Orchard House, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Faversham Road, A2 London Road, Provender Lane, Rushett Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Shoregate Lane, Upchurch, ME9 7HH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2026
To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Shoregate Lane, Upchurch from 21st August 2026 for up to one day, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed approximately 65m northeast of Ham Green Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
The Street & Ferry Road, Iwade. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2026
To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic, in phases, on part of The Street & Ferry Road, Iwade from 3rd August 2026, with estimated completion by 28th August 2026, or until the works have been completed. The roads will not be closed at the same time.
The Street will be closed between the junctions with School Lane and All Saints Close, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
Ferry Road will be closed between the junctions with Plantation Court and School Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for northbound through traffic is via Grovehurst Road, Grovehurst Slip Northbound On, A249 Iwade Bypass, Kingsferry Roundabout and Sheppey Way.
The alternative route for southbound through traffic is via Sheppey Way, Kingsferry Roundabout, A249 Iwade Bypass, Grovehurst Slip Southbound off and B2005 Grovehurst Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
