What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

DARTFORD AREA

Clement Street, Swanley, BR8 7PF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

Because of Openreach works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Clement Street, Swanley, on or after 21st August 2026 for up to 1 day between 09.30hrs and 15.30hrs or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between Gildenhill Road and the entrance to Northview Nursery.

The alternative route is via Clement Street, Goss Hill, B258 Barn End Lane/High Road/Church Hill, A225 Hawley Road/Main Road, Arnolds Lane and vice versa.



Darenth Wood Road, Darenth, DA2 6NT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

Because of access to a telecoms mast for testing/maintenance works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Darenth Wood Road, Darenth, on or after 17th August 2026 for up to 1 day between 09.30hrs and 15.30hrs or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed adjacent to the Jasmine Centre.

The alternative route is via Darenth Wood Road, Darenth Pak Avenue, Gore Road, A296 Watling Street and vice versa.



Gills Road & Wilson Lane, South Darenth, DA4 9LE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

Because of Openreach works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Gills Road and Wilson Lane, South Darenth, on or after 19th August 2026 for up to 2 days between 09.30hrs and 15.30hrs or until the works have been completed.

Gills Road will be closed between Gill’s Farm and The Lodge.

Wilson Lane will be closed between Gills Road and The Hutch.

The alternative route is via Gills Road, B260 Green Street Green Road, Canada Farm Road, Pinden, Rabbits Road, East Hill, Shrubbery Road, Holmesdale Hill and vice versa.



Longfield Avenue, Longfield, DA3 7LL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

Because of UK Power Networks, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Longfield Avenue, Longfield, on or after 20th August 2026 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Shangari 48.

There is no alternative route but access will be given when safe to do so.



Mounts Road, Greenhithe, DA9 9XW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

Because of site clearance and road marking works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Mounts Road, Greenhithe, on or after 17th August 2026 for up to 3 nights between 20.00hrs and 05.00hrs or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between B255 St Clement Way and Bean Road.

The alternative route is via B255 St Clements Way, A226 London Road, Craylands Lane, Milton Street, Alkerden Lane, Mounts Road and vice versa.
