What is happening?

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
CANTERBURY & THANET AREAS
Grove Road, Wickhambreaux. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2026
To allow microsurfacing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Grove Road, Wickhambreaux from 21st August 2026, with estimated completion by 23rd August 2026, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junction with Grove Ferry Road and Preston Meadows, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Grove Road, The Street, Preston Lane, Preston Road, Preston Hill, A257 High Street, Canterbury Road, Wingham Road, High Street, Nargate Street, Wickham Road and Grove Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
