B754, CASTLEHILL ROAD, OVERTOWN (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2026
On 20 July 2026 the North Lanarkshire Council made the above-named Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by Schedule 1 of the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, and in exercise of all other enabling powers, which makes it unlawful for any person to drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle (with the exception of vehicles engaged on the facilitation of roundabout construction works) on B754, Castlehill Road, Overtown from the extended east kerbline of the junction with Hopefield Gardens to the extended west kerbline of the junction with Brooklyn Place by reason of works being executed on or near that location.
Alternative routes for vehicles of height less than or equal to 4.4m (14’6”):
Vehicles on the west side of the closure wishing to access the east side of the closure should travel via Castlehill Road B754, Caledonian Road B7032, Stewarton Street A721, Wishaw Road A721, Overtown Road A71, Main Street A71 and Castlehill Road B754. Vehicles on the east side of the closure wishing to access the west side should proceed vice versa.
Alternative routes for vehicles of a height greater than 4.4m (14’6”):
Vehicles on the west side of the closure wishing to access the east side of the closure should travel via Castlehill Road B754, Netherton Road B754, Shields Road B754 Windmillhill Street A721, Brandon Street A721, Menteith Road A721,Merry Street A723, New Craig Road, Robberhall Road, Craigneuk Street A721, Shieldmuir Street A721, Glasgow Road A721, Main Street A721, Stewarton Street A721, Wishaw Road A721, Overtown Road A71, Main Street A71 and Castlehill Road B754. Vehicles on the east side of the closure wishing to access the west side of the closure should proceed vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be permitted at all times where applicable.
The closure will only be valid when appropriate signing is in place.
The Order, will come into operation at 00:01 hours on Saturday 1 August 2026 and will remain in operation until 23:59 hours on Tuesday 11 August 2026.
