Croydon - Multiple Temporary Road Closures and Traffic Restrictions due to Works

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT. 1984.

SECTION 14 AS AMENDED

THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991

AND ALL OTHER ENABLING POWERS

PARK HILL ROAD, CROYDON

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC

1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate works by Thames Water to construct a thrust block and install two under pressure tees, they intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic movements in Park Hill Road, Croydon.

2. Whilst the said works are taking place:

a) Park Hill Road will be closed northwest bound at its junction with Coombe Road.

b) Vehicles proceeding in Coombe Road will be banned from turning into Park Hill Road.

c) The northwestern footway of Park Hill Road, adjacent to Sheridan Court, Coombe Road, will be closed.

3. During the closure, the alternative routes for vehicular traffic will be as detailed below. Pedestrians affected by the footway closure will be diverted via the opposite footway.

• Eastbound – Via A212, Gravel Hill, Kent Gate Way, Addington Road, Glebe Way, High Street, Addiscombe Road, and Park Hill Road.

• Westbound – Via Coombe Road, Park Lane, Barclay Road, Fairfield Road, and Park Hill Road.

4. The Order will come into operation on 08 August 2026, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed on 01 September 2026. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.

5. The restrictions shall not apply in respect of:

(a) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.

(b) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

(c) any vehicle or person involved in carrying out the specified work.

RUSSELL HILL PLACE, PURLEY

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC

1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate remedial works by Thames Water, they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily prohibit vehicular traffic in Russell Hill Place, Purley.

2. Whilst the said works are taking place Russell Hill Place will be closed between its junctions with Russell Hill and Brighton Road.

3. The Order will come into operation on 06 August 2026, and it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 07 August 2026. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.

4. During the closure the diversion routes for vehicular traffic will be as detailed below.

• Via Brighton Road, Purley Road, around the roundabout, Brighton Road, Banstead Road, Foxley Lane, Russell Hill Road.

• Via Russell Hill Road and Brighton Road.

5. The prohibitions will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.

6. The restrictions shall not apply in respect of:

(a) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.

(b) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

(c) any vehicle involved in carrying out the specified works.

VINCENT ROAD, COULSDON

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC

1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate service cable installation works on behalf of UKPN, they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily prohibit vehicular traffic movements on Vincent Road, Coulsdon.

2. During the works Vincent Road will be closed at its junction with Chipstead Valley Road.

3. Whilst the closure remains in force the alternative route for diverted traffic will be via Chipstead Valley Road, Sherwood Road, Portnalls Road, Portnalls Rise, Rickman Hill, Chipstead Valley Rd and reversed.

4. The Order will come into operation on 10 August 2026, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed on 12 August 2026. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required. The prohibitions will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.

LANSDOWNE ROAD, RUSKIN ROAD, TAMWORTH ROAD & WELLESLEY ROAD, CROYDON

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC

1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate tram replacement works, they intend to make an Order, the effect of which will be to temporarily restrict traffic in Lansdowne Road, Ruskin Road, Tamworth Road and Wellesley Road, Croydon.

2. During the said works:

a) Wellesley Road will be reduced to one lane southeast bound between its junction with Sydenham Road and the south-eastern boundary of 20 Wellesley Road (from 08 to 26 August 2026).

b) Wellesley Road will be closed at its junction with Lansdowne Road (from 16 to 23 August 2026).

c) Tamworth Road will be closed North bound between the south-western wall of No. 62 Tamworth Road and its junction with London Road (from 06 to 31 August 2026).

d) Ruskin Road will be closed at its junction with Tamworth Road (from 06 to 17 August 2026).

3. Whilst the restrictions are in force the diversion routes for traffic will be via Wellesley Road, Croydon Flyover, Old Town, Roman Way, Mitcham Road, Sumner Road, and St James's Road, or via Drummond Road, Church Street, Cairo New Road, Waddon New Road, Rectory Grove, Roman Way, Mitcham Road, Sumner Road and London Road.

4. The restriction shall not apply in respect of:

(a) any vehicle involved in carrying out the said work.

(b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.

(c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

5. The Order will come into operation on 06 August 2026, and it is anticipated that the works will be completed as detailed above. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be re-introduced should further work be required.
