Costock Road, East Leake & Leake Road - Temporary Prohibition Of Vehicles For Resurfacing Works

(COSTOCK ROAD, EAST LEAKE & LEAKE ROAD, COSTOCK)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITIONS) ORDER 2026 (R26-176)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at East Leake & Costock in the Borough of Rushcliffe
The effects of the Order will be:
1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road:
a. Costock Road, East Leake - From its junction with Leake Road, Costock to its junction with Meeting House Close, East Leake
b. Leake Road, Costock - From its junction with Costock Road, East Leake to its junction with Bars Hill, Costock
2. Vehicles are prohibited from waiting, loading and unloading in the following length of road at East Leake & Costock in the Borough of Rushcliffe:-
a. Costock Road, East Leake - (Both Sides) (From 20:00 hours to 06:00 hours) - From its junction with Leake Road, Costock to its junction with Meeting House Close, East Leake
b. Leake Road, Costock - (Both Sides) (From 20:00 hours to 06:00 hours) - From its junction with Costock Road, East Leake to its junction with Bars Hill, Costock.
3. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.
4. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.
IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows:
From Monday 10th August 2026
Until Friday 22nd August 2026 inclusive
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be:
Main Street, East Leake - Brookside, East Leake - Woodgate Road, East Leake - Travells Hill, East Leake - Rempstone Road, Normanton on Soar - Melton Road, Stanford on Soar - Ashby Road, Rempstone - Loughborough Road, Rempstone - Loughborough Road, Costock - Main Street, Costock - Vice versa
The Order will come into force on 10th August 2026 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).
The prohibition is required to enable Via East Midlands to carry out resurfacing works
