Barnet - Proposed Waiting, Loading and Parking Restriction Changes
What is happening?
LONDON BOROUGH OF BARNET
THE BARNET (FREE PARKING PLACES, LOADING PLACES, WAITING, LOADING AND STOPPING RESTRICTIONS) (AMENDMENT NO.*) ORDER 20**
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Barnet propose to make the above-mentioned Orders under Sections 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers.
1. In order to deter obstructive parking, and improve sightlines and safety, the general effect of the Free Parking Places Order would be to introduce new lengths ‘at any time’ waiting restrictions at the following locations:
(a) Brunswick Park Road N11 – By extending the lengths of existing No waiting ‘at any time,’ restriction both side of the junction of Darwin Close N11.
(b) Junction of Brunswick Avenue and Brunswick Grove N11.
(c) Junction of Cadbury Close and High Road N20.
(d) Littlefield Road HA8 – Northeast side between Nos.2 to 10 Littlefield Road.
(e) Junction of Friern Mount Drive and Franklin Close N20.
(f) Junction of Holyoake Walk and Ossulton Way N2.
(g) Junction of Ludlow Way and Ossulton Way N2.
(h) Junction of Pipers Green Lane and Brockley Hill HA7.
(i) Outside No.6 to 8 Brockley Hill HA7.
(j) Junction of Birbeck Road and Milton Road NW7.
(k) Junction of Hammers Lane and Milton Road NW7.
(l) Cowper Road N14 – Side of No.46
The Woodlands and at the side of No.48 The Woodlands N14.
(m) Junction of Myddelton Park and Church Way N20.
(n) Torrington Park N12 – Outside and opposite No.133 Torrington Park N12.
(o) Redwood Way EN5 – Outside No.6 Redwood Way and outside Nos.9 to 15 Redwood Way.
(p) Burnside Close EN5 – Side of No.56 Meadway EN5.
(q) Burnside Close EN5 – Rear of Nos.1, 2, 7, 8, 9 and 10 Burnside Close.
(r) Cherry Close NW9 – Southside between No.1 Arran Court and No.35 Arran Court.
(s) Hazel Close NW9 – Southside between No.1 Deal Court and 59 Frobisher Court.
(t) Junction of Heddon Court Avenue and Cat Hill EN4.
(u) Junction of Friern Barnet Lane and Hemington Avenue N11.
(v) Friern Barnet Lane N11 – Outside and opposite Nos.19 to 23 Friern Barnet Lane N11 and outside Nos 13 to 15 Friern Barnet Lane N11.
(w) Junction of Primrose Close and Rosemary Avenue N3.
(x) Cherry Hill EN5 – Formalise the existing lengths of “At any time” waiting restrictions situated at the side of No.45 Great North Road EN5 and at the side of No.47 Great North Road EN5.
2. The general effect of the Free Parking Places Order would also upgrade existing lengths of waiting restrictions to operate “At any time” at the following locations below:
(a) The existing Monday to Friday 6am-5.30pm and Saturday 6am-1pm waiting restrictions outside and opposite the emergency access entrance to the New Southgate Recreational Ground on Oakleigh Road South N20.
(b) The existing Monday to Friday 6am to 5.30pm and Saturday 6am to 1pm waiting restrictions outside and opposite the emergency access entrance to the New Southgate Recreational Ground on Brunswick Park Road N11.
(c) The existing 9am to 4pm Monday to Friday waiting restrictions outside Nos.6 to 22 Millfield Road HA8.
(d) The existing 9am to 5pm Monday to Saturday waiting restrictions outside Nos.4 to 6 Hutton Grove N12.
(e) The existing 8am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday waiting restrictions situated at the junction of Meadway and Burnside Close EN5 and also at the junction of Meadway and King Edward Road EN5.
(f) The existing 8am to 6.30pm Monday to Saturday waiting restrictions at the junction of Broadfield Avenue and Hale Lane and at the junction Heather Walk and Hale Lane HA8.
3. The general effect of the Free Parking Places Order would also introduce new lengths of no loading restrictions at the following locations below:
(a) Introduce no loading restrictions operating “At any time” at the junction of Hervey Close and Ballards Lane N3.
(b) Introduce a length of no loading restrictions operating 7am to 10am and 4pm to 7pm Monday to Saturday on Hervey Close N3 at the side of No.18 Ballards Lane.
4. In order to prevent obstructive parking, improve sightlines for pedestrians and improve general road safety in the vicinity of Beit Shvidler Primary School, the general effect of the Free Order would also introduce school entrance markings and No stopping on school entrance restrictions operating Monday to Friday 8am to 4.15pm outside St James Church on Heather Walk HA8.
5. In order to help improve the resident parking provision on Manus Way N20, the general effect of the Free Parking Places Order would also remove a no waiting ‘at any time’ restrictions situated opposite Nos.3 to 4 Manus Way N20.
6. NOTICE IS ALSO HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of London Borough of Barnet by the powers conferred under section 15 of the Greater London Council (General Powers) Act 1974 is resolving to formalise lengths of footway parking in the following roads listed below.
(a) Manus Way N20 – Opposite Nos.2 to 5 and Nos.7 to 10.
(b) Swan Lane N20 – Outside Nos.100 to 112 Swan Lane N20.
(c) Raebarn Gardens EN5 – Southeast side between No.1 Raebarn Gardens and Quinta Drive.
(d) St Peter’s Close EN5 – Southeast side between Nos.2 to 8 St Peter’s Close and the side of No.45 Ryecroft Crescent.
(e) Hackforth Close EN5 – Northwest side, between a point 7 metres from the southeastern kerbline of Ryecroft Crescent and a point in line with the common boundary of No.4 and No.6 Hackforth Close.
(f) Farm Close EN5 – Northwest side between Nos.2 to 8 Farm Close.
(g) Farm Close EN5 – Southeast side between Nos.1 to 7 Farm Close and the side of No.1 Ryecroft Crescent (Farm Close).
(h) Brett Road EN5 – Northwest side, outside Nos.1 to 15 Brett Road and the side of No.1 Quinta Drive (Brett Road).
Statement of Reasons for proposing to make the Orders can be obtained, inclusive for a period of 28 days from the date on which this notice is published, by emailing parking.consultations@barnet.gov.uk or by writing to the Design Team, Highways Section, 2 Bristol Avenue, Colindale, London NW9 4EW.
