The A243 GLA Road (Leatherhead Road, Royal Borough of Kingston Upon Thames) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic and Stopping) Order 2026
- Transport for London hereby gives notice that it intends to make the above named Traffic Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 for the purpose specified in paragraph 2. The effect of the Order is summarised in paragraph 3.
- The purpose of the Order is to enable electrical streetworks to take place on the A243 Leatherhead Road in the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames.
The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any vehicle from:
- (1) stopping on Leatherhead Road between its junction with Chessington Roundabout and the extended common building line of Nos.27 and 29 Leatherhead Road;
- (2) entering or exiting the service road fronting Nos.2 to 8 Bridge Road and Nos.1 to 9 Leatherhead Road at its junction with Leatherhead Road;
The Order will also suspend the existing pedestrian crossing on Leatherhead Road outside No.2 Leatherhead Road.
The Order will be effective at certain times from 8:00 AM on 8th August 2026 until 7:00 PM on 13th August 2026 or until the works has been completed. The prohibitions will apply only during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.
- The prohibitions will not apply in respect of:
- (1) any vehicle being used for the purposes of those works or for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes;
- (2) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a person authorised by Transport for London.
- At such times as the prohibitions are in force an alternative route will be indicated by traffic signs. For the service Road fronting Nos.1 to 9 Leatherhead Road via the Bridge Road entry/exit to normal route of travel.
