Hertfordshire - Multiple Temporary Road Closures Due To Telegraph Pole Works

(Temporary Closing Of Briary Lane, Royston) Order 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Briary Lane, Royston from its junction with Earls Hill Gardens north eastwards for a distance of approximately 40m ("the Road"), except for access.
The alternative route for northbound traffic will be via: Briary Lane, Sun Hill, A10 (Market Hill/Priory Lane), Melbourn Street and Baldock Street.
There is no alternative route available for southbound traffic, but access will be maintained on Briary Lane.
The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing telegraph pole is proposed to be executed near the Road.
The Order will come into effect from 30 July 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 2 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(Temporary Closing Of Barkway Road, Nuthampstead) Order 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Barkway Road, Nuthampstead from a point 610m north west of its junction with 3U877 (unnamed road) north westwards and north eastwards for a distance of approximately 100m ("the Road"), except for access.
An alternative route will be via: Barkway Road, C11 (unnamed road), Raymouts Lane, C11 (unnamed road) and Barkway Road.
The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing telegraph pole is proposed to be executed near the Road.
The Order will come into effect from 30 July 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 2 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.
