West Suffolk Council (Dalham Footpath 6(part)) Public Path Diversion Order 2026
On 9 July 2026 West Suffolk Council confirmed the above order made under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980.
The effect of the order as confirmed is to divert the entire width of that part of Dalham Public Footpath 6 commencing at Ordnance Survey grid reference (OSGR) TL74856016 from the C662 road (Dunstall Green Road) and proceeding in a west north westerly direction for approximately 123 metres to the western boundary of a property known as Moat End at OSGR TL74736018 then in a west north westerly direction for approximately 104 metres to OSGR TL74636020 to a new line commencing at OSGR TL74836009 from the C662 road (Dunstall Green Road) and proceeding in a west north westerly direction across a meadow for approximately 103 metres to OSGR TL74736012 then in a north westerly direction across the meadow for approximately 25 metres to the western boundary of the meadow at OSGR TL74716013 then in a north westerly direction across an agricultural field for approximately 110 metres to join the existing route at OSGR TL74636020 as shown on the order map.
A copy of the order as confirmed and the order map have been placed and may be seen free of charge at Bury St Edmunds Library, Sergeants Walk, St Andrews Street North, Bury St Edmunds, IP33 1TZ between the hours of 8.30am and 5.30pm Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, 8.30am and 7.30pm Tuesday and Friday, 8.30am and 5pm Saturday and 10am and 4pm Sunday. The order comes into force on 2 October 2026 but if a person aggrieved by the order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of the act, as amended, or of any regulation made under the act has not been complied with in relation to the order he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the act, within six weeks from 17 July 2026, make an application to the High Court.
