Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:
A) C85 (Part), Crudwell; from its property known as Lower Odd Farm for a distance of approximately 310m in a westerly direction to enable Openreach to carry out pole replacement works and other associated works. Alternative route via C85 (unaffected length) – UC 959201 – A429 – C85 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 18 August 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 for 3 days. B) Ham Road (Part), Ham; from its junction with Cutting Hill for a distance of approximately 100m in a westerly direction to enable Openreach to carry out excavate to install 1x new pole. C) C50 (Part), Bishops Cannings; from its junction with Horton Road for a distance of approximately 450m in a northerly direction to enable Wessex Water Services to carry out stop tap installation works and other associated works. Alternative route via C50 (unaffected length) – A361 – Horton Road and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 19 August 2026 and the closure will be required for 3 days. D) C198 (Part), Ham; from its property known as Little Fields to its property known as The Beeches to enable Openreach to carry out excavate to install 5x poles. Alternative route via New Road – C196 – C197 – A338 – C198 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 17 August 2026 and the closure will be required for 3 days. D) Chapel Lane, Broad Town; from its junction with C415 for its entire length.
E) Pye Lane (Part), Broad Town; from its junction with C415 for a distance of approximately 210m in a south westerly direction to enable Scottish and Southern Power Distribution to carry out overhead cabling work, pole replacement works and other associated works. No alternative route for D. Alternative route E via Pye Lane (unaffected length) – C119 – Thornhill – C15 – C415 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 19 August 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:00 and 17:00 for 1 day. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 19 August 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:00 and 17:00 for 1 day. G) The Street (Part), Bishops Cannings; from its junction with UC 036401 for a distance of approximately 225m in a southerly direction to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out sec.50 new foul connection via open excavation. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 17 August 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 for 5 days. H) C96 (Part), St Paul Malmesbury Without; from its property known as Trinity Farm House for a distance of approximately 157m in a north easterly direction.
I) Pound Hill (Part), St Paul Malmesbury Without; from its junction with C96 for a distance of approximately 265m in a southerly direction to enable Scottish and Southern Power Distribution to carry out overhead line works and other associated works. Alternative route via C96 (unaffected length) – C82 – C77 – C45 – C107 – B4042 – A429 – C96 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 17 August 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:30 and 17:00 for 1 day. J) B3052 (Part), Marlborough; from its junction with A346 for a distance of approximately 36m in a westerly direction to enable Scottish and Southern Power Distribution to carry out replacement of old linkbox and other associated works. This Order will come into operation on 20 August 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 until 26 August 2026. K) Church Hill (Part), West Overton; from its junction with Frog Lane for a distance of approximately 130m in a southerly direction.
L) Frog Lane (Part), West Overton; from its junction with Church Hill for a distance of approximately 160m in a south westerly direction to enable Openreach to carry out excavate to lay 186m new duct, install boxes and clear blockages. Alternative route via A4 – West Overton Village and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 17 August 2026 and the closure will be required until 28 August 2026.
M) Sandpits Lane (Part), Sherston; from its junction with Green Lane for a distance of approximately 199m in a north westerly direction to enable Openreach to carry out desilting, gully sucking, cabling works and other associated works. Alternative route via Sandpits Lane (unaffected length) – Knockdown Road – Green Lane and vice versa. N) C132 (Part), Christian Malford; from its junction with B4069 for a distance of approximately 310m in a southerly direction to enable Openreach to carry out duct laying works and other associated works. O) Couch Lane, Devizes; from its junction with New Park Street to its junction with Commercial Road to enable Openreach to carry out ducting works and other associated works. This Order will come into operation on 29 July 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:00 and 16:00 for 1 day. S) C196 (Part), Tidcombe and Fosbury; from a point approximately 152m south west of its junction with C74 for a distance of approximately 200m in a south westerly direction to enable Openreach Limited to carry out frame and cover repair. Alternative route via C196 (unaffected length) – C195 – C74 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 29 July 2026 and the closure will be required for 2 days. U) C202 (Part), West Overton; from its junction with C38 for a distance of approximately 30m in a westerly direction to enable Thames Water Utilities Limited to carry out chamber repairs and associated works. Alternative route via C38 (unaffected length) – C78 – A4 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 27 July 2026 and the closure will be required for 3 days. V) C15 (Part), Compton Bassett; from its property known as No.02 The Breach for a distance of approximately 45m in a westerly direction to enable Scottish and Southern Power Distribution to carry out works to unloop supply, renew a main and service and other associated works. Alternative route via C15 (unaffected length) – A4 – A3102 – C15 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 27 July 2026 and the closure will be required until 31 July 2026. W) Rabley Road (Part), Mildenhall; from a point approximately 148m north east of its junction with C6 for a distance of approximately 35m in a north easterly direction to enable Thames Water to carry out excavation to install aerial post and connect to chamber and other associated works. Alternative route via Greenway Road – Woodlands Road – C6 and vice versa. This Order which previously came into operation on 23 March 2026 will now recommence on 27 July 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 for 3 days. Orders A) to V) will have a maximum duration of 18 months, Order W) has a maximum duration of 18 months.
The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.

A) Footpath 85 (Part), Purton; from its junction with The Peak to its junction with College Road to enable excavate and lay approximately 100m duct in footpath. Alternative route via College Road – High Street – The Peak and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 27 July 2026 and it is anticipated that the closure will be required until 31 July 2026. B) Footpath 77 (Part), Chippenham; from its junction with Dallas Road for a distance of approximately 135m in a south easterly direction to enable Fixed scaffold to the downside spandrel for works access & mounting a drilling rig. Undertake de-veg works, undertake the install of anchors to prevent further movement to the spandrel, undertake fracture repairs. Alternative route via Footpath 77 (unaffected length) – Ivy Lane – Marshfield Road – Dallas Road and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 27 July 2026 and it is anticipated that the closure will be required until 28 August 2026. ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT ACT 2004
THE COUNTY OF WILTSHIRE (PARISHES OF NORTH WILTSHIRE) (PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING, TAXI RANK CLEARWAYS AND ON STREET PARKING) CONSOLIDATION ORDER 2024 (AMENDMENT NO.4) ORDER 2026
Notice is hereby given that on 15 July 2026 Wiltshire Council made the above mentioned Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Traffic Management Act 2004 to amend the Parishes of North Wiltshire Consolidation Order 2024 by the introduction of new Map Schedule Nos. AA63 and AB63 the effect of which will be introduce No Waiting at any time on:
- B4696, Ashton Keynes – east side – from a point at the centre of the Thames River Bridge for a distance of 16 metres in a southerly direction and 78 metres in a northerly direction;
- B4696, Ashton Keynes – west side – from a point at the centre of the Thames River Bridge for a distance of 7 metres in a southerly direction and 78 metres in a northerly direction.

Any person aggrieved by the Order and desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in the Order on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the relevant Section of the above Act or on the grounds that any requirement of that Section or of Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act or any regulation made under the said Schedule, has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks of the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court. The Order will come into operation on 28 July 2026.
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
1. THE COUNTY OF WILTSHIRE (CALLOWS CROSS, BRINKWORTH) (30MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2026
2. THE COUNTY OF WILTSHIRE (B4042, BRINKWORTH) (40MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2026
Notice is hereby given that Wiltshire Council proposes to make the above Orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be as follows:
Order 1 – To revoke The County of Wiltshire (B4042, Brinkworth) (50mph Speed Limit) Order 2001 and to introduce a 30mph speed limit on Callows Cross, Brinkworth – the complete length.
Order 2 – To revoke The County of Wiltshire (B4042, Brinkworth) (40mph Speed Limit) Order 2001 and re-enact it in the above Order 2 and to introduce a 40mph speed limit on B4042, Brinkworth – from a point 275 metres east of its junction with UC Road leading to property known as Woodside Farm to a point 450 metres east of its junction with C76 Callow Hill.
Deposit copies of the draft Orders, plan and Statement of the Council’s Reasons for proposing to make the Orders may be inspected at the offices of Wiltshire Council, County Hall, Bythesea Road, Trowbridge during normal office hours.

THE WILTSHIRE COUNCIL PARISH OF HEDDINGTON PATH 20A (PART) AND PATH CALNE 20A (PART) DIVERSION AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER 2026
On 13 July 2026, Wiltshire Council confirmed the above order made under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980.
The effect of the order as confirmed will divert Footpaths Heddington 20A (part) and Calne 20A (part) situated at Kingsplay Close, Calne.
Heddington 20A from OSGR ST 9993-6977, in a broadly southerly, then south easterly direction for approximately 145m, to OSGR ST 9993-6963, to a new route at leading from OSGR ST 9993-6977 in a broadly easterly, then south easterly, then westerly, then southerly direction for approximately 340m, to OSGR ST 9993-6963, the path having a width of 3m and the footbridge having a width of 1.4m.
Calne 20A from OSGR ST 9993-6963, in a broadly south easterly direction for approximately 18m, to OSGR ST 9994-6962, to a new route at OSGR ST 9993-6963 in a broadly southerly, then easterly direction for approximately 27m, to OSGR ST 9994-6962, the path having a width of 2m.
And thereupon the Calne and Chippenham Rural District Council Area Definitive Statement dated 1953 shall be modified accordingly.

THE WILTSHIRE COUNCIL PARISH OF EDINGTON PATH NO. 23 EXTINGUISHMENT AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER 2026
The above named order was confirmed on the 14th July 2026 as made, under section 118 of the Highways Act 1980, the effect of the order is to extinguish the entire width and length of that public right of way (footpath) as shown by a solid black line on the order plan, from point A, at its northern junction with the Westbury Road at OS Grid reference ST 92848 53110 leading generally south along the driveway to No. 6 The City to the path's southerly termination point, at point B of the order plan, adjacent to No. 6 The City at ST 92876 53038 (approx. length 80 metres). That public right of way being known as Edington 23. The order will also have the effect of modifying the Warminster and Westbury Rural District Council Area definitive map dated 1953 accordingly.
