Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic: A) C195 (Part), Chute; from its junction with C297 for a distance of approximately 80m in a north westerly direction.B) C195 (Part), Chute; from its junction with C297 for a distance of approximately 70m in a southerly direction.C) C297 (Part), Chute; from its junction with C195 for a distance of approximately 70m in a north easterly direction to enable MJ Abbott to carry out carriageway repairs and other associated works. Alternative route via C195 (unaffected length) – C256 – C262 – Chute Cadley Triangle Southeast out of county – Conholt Hill and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 18 August 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 07:00 and until 25 August 2026.For further information please contact MJ Abbott on 01722 716361. N) UC 183503 (Part), Idmiston; from its junction with UC 183501 for a distance of approximately 40m in a south westerly direction to enable Scottish and Southern Power Distribution to carry out excavation, pole installation and other associated works. Alternative route via UC 183503 (unaffected length) – C285 – UC 183501 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 27 July 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 until 05 August 2026. This Order will come into operation on 27 July 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00 until 01 August 2026. The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.
