What is happening?

Section 1 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and Regulation 7 of the Local Authorities Traffic Orders (Procedure) (England and Wales) Regulations 1996 (SI 1996/2489).
THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF BURY (PIMHOLE ROAD, BURY) (NO STOPPING EXCEPT FOR AMBULANCES) ORDER 2026 (Order)
1. The Metropolitan Borough of Bury (Council) gives notice that it proposes to make an Order under section 1 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and any other enabling powers. If the Order comes into force it will introduce the following changes:
Introduction of No Stopping at Any Time Except for Ambulances restrictions:
Pimhole Road, Bury
West side from a point 40 metres south of the southerly kerbline of Rochdale Road South for a distance of 12 metres
This restriction shall not apply to an ambulance which may stop for so long as is necessary to perform its statutory powers and duties.
2. The Order shall come into operation on the date that the Council publishes a notice stating that the Order has been made.
3. Details of the proposals are in the draft Order (including the exemptions contained within them) with plans showing the roads and areas affected and a statement of the Council’s reasons for making the Order. Copies of these may be requested by email at TROobjections@bury.gov.uk quoting ref: TM2/26/566 and they will be available for inspection at the Town Hall from 9am – 4:30pm Mon – Fri.
4. All representations whether in support or objecting to the proposals, together with the grounds on which they are made must be made in writing and sent to Traffic Team, Bury Council, Bradley Fold Depot, 34 Bradley Fold Road, Ainsworth, Radcliffe, Bury BL2 6RS or preferably by email to TROobjections@bury.gov.uk quoting ref: TM2/26/566 by 14/08/2026

- The Metropolitan Borough of Bury (Council) gives notice that it proposes to make an Order under section 1 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and any other enabling powers. If the Order comes into force it will introduce the following changes:
The following Orders are revoked:
- BUR275 – The Metropolitan Borough of Bury (Various Streets, Bury Town Centre) (Disabled Persons Parking Places) Order 1988; in its entirety.
- BUR273 – The Metropolitan Borough of Bury (Murray Road Area, Bury) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading or Unloading and Prohibition of Driving Except for Loading) Order 1988; in its entirety.
Introduction of No Waiting at Any Time
Murray Road, Bury – Easterly side from its junction with the Market access road adjacent to the Princess Block to the southerly kerbline of Murray Road (adjacent to the George Block).
Introduction of No Waiting / No Loading at Any Time
- Murray Road, Bury – Easterly/Southerly side from its junction with Angouleme Way to its junction with the Market access road adjacent to the Princess Block
- Murray Road, Bury – Westerly side from its junction with Angouleme Way to a point 16m north of the northerly kerbline of Angouleme Way
Introduction of No Waiting at Any Time and Prohibition of Driving
Murray Road, Bury – from a point 54m north of the northerly kerbline of Angouleme Way for the remainder of its length in a north easterly direction.

Murray Road, Bury – East kerbline, from a point opposite the projected southerly kerbline of Murray Road for a distance of 26m in a northerly direction.
Introduction of Loading Only Bay (operational at all times)
Murray Road, Bury – Westerly side, from a point 49m north of the northerly kerbline of Angouleme Way for a distance of 5m in a north easterly direction.
