NOTICE OF MAKING OF AN ORDER
HIGHWAYS ACT 1980
WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981

PUBLIC FOOTPATH NO. BCC/158 (PT)
PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER (NO.3) 2026

The above named order, made on the 21 July 2026 under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 will divert the public footpath running from:

• that part of public footpath number BCC/158 at Brentnall Way and Warneford Road, Eastville ward, shown by a bold continuous line on the map contained in the Order, at grid reference 363077 176587, in a generally easterly direction for a distance of approximately 194 metres, across the playing fields to grid reference 363271 176575, then runs in a generally south-south-easterly direction directly behind the houses located along Warneford Road for a distance of approximately 77 metres to grid reference 363315 176513, with an undefined width;

to a line running from:

• that part of public footpath number BCC/158 at Brentnall Way and Warneford Road, Eastville ward, shown by a bold broken line on the map contained in the Order, which runs from grid reference 363077 176587 in a generally easterly direction across the playing fields for a distance of approximately 200 metres to grid reference 363273 176577, then runs in a generally south-easterly and southerly direction through tree cover behind properties along Warneford Road for a distance of approximately 78 metres to grid reference 363315 176513, a total distance of approximately 278 metres with a width of 1.5 metres along its length. as shown on the order map accompanying the order.

The order is also made under Section 53A(2) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 (the 1981 Act) because it appears to the authority that the City Council of Bristol definitive map and statement require modification in consequence of the occurrence of an event specified in section 53(3)(a)(i) of the 1981 Act, namely the diversion of a highway shown or required to be shown in the map and statement.

A copy of the order and the order map have been placed and may be seen free of charge at the offices of Bristol City Council, City Hall, Bristol BS1 5TR, during normal office hours. Copies of the order and map may be bought there at a price of 30p. Copies of the order and order map may be sent by second class post on receipt of a written request at a price of £6 to cover the Council’s administrative costs.

Any representations about or objections to the order may be sent in writing to the Service Director, Legal and Democratic Services, City Hall PO Box 3300, Bristol BS1 9LN, quoting reference LEG/DB3/22784969, not later than 4 September 2026. Please state the grounds on which they are made.

If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, Bristol City Council may confirm the order as an unopposed order. If the order is sent to the Secretary of State for the Environment Food and Rural Affairs for confirmation any representations or objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the order.
