ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 (as Amended) – SECTION 14(1)

THE COUNCIL OF THE BOROUGH OF ST. HELENS

(TAMWORTH STREET AND MARKET STREET, NEWTON LE WILLOWS)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF RIGHT TURNS) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the St. Helens Borough Council propose not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an order under the provisions of Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as Amended), the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed right along the roads listed in schedule 1, as and when directed by road traffic signs on-site.

Schedule 1

The Order will come into force on Monday 3rd August, 2026, and will have a maximum duration of eighteen months, but will terminate on completion of the works, which is expected to be 15 days. The alternative route will be via Tamworth Street and Lord Street.

The reason for making this Order is to facilitate new lighting protection being installed to the town hall using a MEWP.
