What is happening?

PROPOSED WAITING RESTRICTIONS ON HEWETT ROAD (MAYFIELD SCHOOL - SERVICE ACCESS)

Notice is hereby given that the Portsmouth City Council proposes to make the following Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984: The Portsmouth City Council (Hewett Road) (Waiting Restrictions) Order 2026.
1. The effect of the Order would be:
a) To introduce a "No Waiting Monday to Saturday 6am to 5pm" restriction on the north side of Hewett Road, opposite Mayfield School service access, outside properties Nos. 99-111 (approximately 33 metres length)
b) To introduce "No Waiting at any Time" restrictions on the south side of Hewett Road outside Mayfield School service access from 5 metres west to 5 metres east of the service entrance.
2. Copies of the draft Order, Statement of Reasons and Map are available to view on Portsmouth City Council’s website: Search 'Traffic Regulation Orders 2026" at

www.portsmouth.gov.uk.

Alternatively, they can be viewed at the Civic Offices, Guildhall Square, PO1 2AL, Monday to Friday between 9am - 4pm. Printed copies can be obtained by calling 023 9260 6480.
3. Persons wishing to object to these proposals must do so by sending their representations to

TROteam@portsmouthcc.gov.uk

or by post to the TRO Team, Portsmouth City Council, Civic Offices, Portsmouth PO1 2NE, quoting ref P016-26 within 21 days of the date of this Notice (i.e. by 14th August 2026), stating the grounds for the objection.
Under requirements of current access to information legislation, please note that all representations submitted in response to this Notice, including the name and address of the person submitting it, may be made available for public inspection.
