(TEMPORARY SPEED RESTRICTION) NOTICE 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Lancashire County Council intend to make a Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which is to temporarily prohibit any motor vehicle or cycle from proceeding at a speed exceeding 30 MPH on the lengths of highway in the borough of Burnley.
Barrowford Road, Burnley, from its junction with Slade Lane by Lower Slade Farm to its Slade Lane junction by St Phillip's Church.
The prohibition will be operative from 0700 hours on Monday 10th August 2026 until 1800 hours on Friday 21st August 2026 or until completion of the works within this period.
No speed limit imposed by this order applies to vehicles falling within regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those Regulations
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow a water main renewal.
