Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
TONBRIDGE & MALLING AREA
A227 Shipbourne Road, Tonbridge (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow telegraph pole replacement and associated cable rehanging works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A227 Shipbourne Road, Tonbridge, on or after 16th August 2026 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed approximately 90 metres South of The Lodge, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

A229 Bluebell Hill Village Slip, Bluebell Hill, ME5 9RL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow two telegraph pole replacement and associated cable rehanging works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A229 Bluebell Hill Village Slip, Bluebell Hill, on or after 12th August 2026 for up to 1 night or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed at the junction with Common Road and a point approximately 65 metres North of the junction with Common Road, between the hours of 21:00 and 05:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via A229 Blue Bell Hill, A229 Bluebell Hill Slip North Off, A229 Lord Lees Roundabout, A229 Bluebell Hill Slip Link Bridge, A229 Taddington Wood Roundabout, A229 Bluebell Hill Slip Link Bridge, Maidstone Road, Common Road.
Bank Lane, Hildenborough, TN11 8NR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow ducting works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Bank Lane, Hildenborough, on or after 13th August 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of the B245 London Road side of the existing driveway at Thomas Wood. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via B245 London Road, Mill Lane, Bank Lane and vice versa.
Barden Road & Holford Street, Tonbridge, TN9 1SG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & PROHIBITION OF PARKING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow water pipe works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Barden Road, Tonbridge, and prohibit parking on Holford Street, Tonbridge, on or after 27th July 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.
Barden Road will be closed in the vicinity of property number 22. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site. Parking on Holford Street will be prohibited between Barden Road and Denvers Street.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Holford Street, Danvers Road and vice versa.
Comp Lane, St Mary’s Platt (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow three new telegraph poles to be installed, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Comp Lane, St Mary’s Platt, on or after 28th July 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed approximately 20 metres, 80 metres and 130 metres west of the entrance to Mid Comp Farm. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Comp Lane, B2016 Seven Mile Lane, Mereworth Road, Forge Lane, Gover Hill, The Hurst, Long Mill Lane, Comp Lane and vice versa.
Mill Lane, Hildenborough, TN11 9LX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow stopcock replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Mill Lane, Hildenborough, on or after 10th August 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Limes Farm Bungalow. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Mill Lane, Vines Lane, Riding Lane, B245 Tonbridge Road, B245 London Road, Mill Lane and vice versa.
Nevill Court, West Malling, ME19 6LG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow joint bay installation and new connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Nevill Court, West Malling, on or after 10th August 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Malling House. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route for any through traffic. Access will be maintained where it is safe to do so.
New Road, Station Road & A20 London Road, Ditton, ME20 6AD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING, NO LEFT TURN, NO RIGHT TURN & CYCLE LANE SUSPENSION) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow highway improvement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on parts of New Road & Station Road, Ditton, on or after 10th August 2026 for up to 27 days or until the works have been completed. The Left and Right turns from A20 London Road into New Road & Station Road will be suspended. The cycle lane on A20 London Road will be suspended.
New Road will be closed in 2 phases at the junction with A20 London Road as detailed below:
From 10th August 2026 with estimated completion by 21st August 2026. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
From 29th August 2026, with estimated completion by 5th September 2026, between the hours of 22:00 and 05:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via London Road, Bradbourne Lane, St Peters Road, New Road and vice versa.
Station Road will be closed at the junction with A20 London Road from 29th August 2026, with estimated completion by 5th September 2026, between the hours of 22:00 and 05:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via A20 London Road, Hall Road, Station Road and vice versa.
The cycle lane on A20 London Road will be temporarily suspended from outside property number 549 to outside property number 506 for the duration of the works. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There will be no left turn or right turn from A20 London Road into Station Road or New Road. The current Left and Right turns from A20 London Road into Station Road and New Road will be temporarily suspended for the duration of the works.
Pilgrims Way, Wrotham, TN15 7DJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow stopcock replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Pilgrims Way, Wrotham, on or after 27th July 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of property number 3. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Pilgrims Way, Old London Road, High Street, Kemsing Road, Battlefields Road, Pilgrims Way and vice versa.

To allow new water service connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Ridgeway Crescent, Tonbridge, on or after 28th July 2026 for up to 7 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of property number 2. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Ridgeway Crescent, The Ridgeway, Ridgeway Crescent and vice versa.
Sheet Hill, Plaxtol, TN15 0PU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow new water service connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Sheet Hill, Plaxtol, on or after 27th July 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of The Barn. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Sheet Hill, Bewley Lane, A227 Tonbridge Road, Plaxtol Lane, Church Hill, Tree Lane, Yopps Green, Sheet Hill and vice versa.
The Street, Plaxtol, TN15 0QG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow water pipe works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of The Street, Plaxtol, on or after 28th July 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of property named Cobden. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Street, Long Mill Lane, The Hurst, Oxenhoath Road, Hamptons Road, School Lane, The Street and vice versa.
Vigo Road, Fairseat, TN15 7LU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow telegraph pole replacement and associated cable rehanging works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Vigo Road, Fairseat, on or after 29th July 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Fairseat House. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Vigo Road, A227 Gravesend Road, Gravesend Road, A20 London Road, Labour In Vain Road, Plaxdale Green Road, Stansted Hill and vice versa.
