Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
THANET AREA
B2014 Newington Road, Ramsgate, CT11 0QT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of B2014 Newington Road, Ramsgate, on or after 10th August 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 5, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2014 Newington Road, B2050 Manston Road, A256 Haine Road, A256 Canterbury Road West, A299 Canterbury Road East, A255 Canterbury Road East, A255 Nethercourt Circus, A255 Nethercourt Hill, A255 High Street and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Albert Street, Ramsgate, CT11 9BY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Albert Street, Ramsgate, on or after 27th July 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed near Harbour Towers, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any Southbound through traffic is via Albert Street, Hertford Street, Hertford Place and Addington Street.
The alternative route for any Northbound through traffic is via Addington Street, West Cliff Road, Hertford Street and Albert Street.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Chatham Street, Ramsgate, CT11 9RX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Chatham Street, Ramsgate, on or after 10th August 2026 for up to 19 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from outside number 20 to outside number 30, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Chatham Street, A255 Park Road, South Eastern Road, High Street and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Cottington Road, Minster, CT12 5JN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow bridge works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Cottington Road, Minster, on or after 11th August 2026 for up to 8 hours or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed 20m either side of the railway bridge, between the hours of 22:00 and 06:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Cottington Road, Grinsell Hill, The Lanes, Foxborough Lane, Tothill Street, A299 Mount Pleasant, A299 Hengist Way, Sandwich Road, Cliffs End Road, Foads Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Dumpton Lane, Ramsgate, CT11 7AS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Dumpton Lane, Ramsgate, on or after 10th August 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 28, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Dumpton Lane, West Dumpton Lane, Ramsgate Road, A255 Hereson Road, Cecilia Road, College Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Edge End Road, Broadstairs, CT10 2AE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Edge End Road, Broadstairs, on or after 27th July 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 27A. The one-way Order will be suspended the entire length, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Edge End Road, Vale Road, Gladstone Road, A255 St Peters Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Ellington Road, Ramsgate, CT11 9ST (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Ellington Road, Ramsgate, on or after 10th August 2026 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction of Poplar Road to outside number 26, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Ellington Road, South Eastern Road, Crescent Road, Vale Square, West Cliff Road, Queen Street, Elms Avenue and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Foads Lane, Cliffsend, CT12 5JU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Foads Lane, Cliffsend, on or after 10th August 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions of Cliffsend Grove and Sandwich Road, between the hours of 20:00 and 05:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Foads Lane, Sandwich Road, Meverall Avenue, Cliffs End Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Grange Road, Ramsgate, CT11 9LY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Grange Road, Ramsgate, on or after 27th July 2026 for up to 13 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 83, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Grange Road, Ellington Place, A255 High Street, A255 Nethercourt Hill, A255 Nethercourt Circus, B2054 London Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Margate Soul Festival (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow Margate Soul Festival to take place, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Various Roads, Margate, on or after 31st July 2026 for up to 3 days or until the event has taken place.
The Parade will be closed between the junctions of Market Street and King Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
Duke Street will be closed at the junction with Market Place, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
Mansion Street will be closed at the junction with Fort Hill, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
Market Place will be closed at the junction with Love Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
King Street will be closed at the junction with Broad Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic from King Street is via King Street, Broad Street and Love Lane.
The alternative route for any through traffic from The Parade is via B2051 The Parade, Market Street and Lombard Street.
Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the event.
Thanet Road, Broadstairs, CT10 1JQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Thanet Road, Broadstairs, on or after 11th August 2026 for up to 7 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 23, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Thanet Road, Prospect Road, Prospect Place and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
