Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

MAIDSTONE AREA

A20 High Street, Maidstone, ME15 6YD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow frame and cover replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A20 High Street, Maidstone, on or after 29th July 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from property number 53 to the junction of Mill Street, between the hours of 19:30 and 05:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative routes for any through traffic are via:

Diversion 1 - A249 Bishops Way, A229 Palace Avenue, A229 Lower Stone Street, A249 Mote Road, A249 Wat Tyler Way, King Street.

B2162 Collier Street, Collier Street, TN12 9RJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow underground cabling installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of B2162 Collier Street, Collier Street, on or after 27th July 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Willows Farm. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

B2163 Lower Street, Leeds, ME17 1TL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow drainage gully installation and resurfacing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of B2163 Lower Street, Leeds, on or after 27th July 2026 for up to 7 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Abbey Farm House. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Avery Lane, Langley, ME15 8RZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow stopcock repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Avery Lane, Langley, on or after 10th August 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of property named Holcott House. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Avery Lane, Back Street, Caring Road, Green Hill, Otham Street, Simmonds Lane, Honey Lane, Avery Lane and vice versa.

Beaconsfield Road & Eccleston Road, Tovil, ME15 6QP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow carriageway patching works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on parts of Beaconsfield Road & Eccleston Road, Tovil, on or after 27th July 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

Beaconsfield Road will be closed in the vicinity of the junction with the primary school exit. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Beaconsfield Road, Wharf Road, Lower Tovil, Church Road and vice versa.

Eccleston Road will be closed in the vicinity of the junction with the primary school entrance. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route. Access will be maintained where it is safe to do so.

Bower Place, Maidstone, ME16 8BL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow meter pit works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Bower Place, Maidstone, on or after 28th July 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of property number 10. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Bower Place, A26 Tonbridge Road, Bower Lane, Bower Place and vice versa.

Brishing Road, Chart Sutton, ME17 3SW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow telegraph pole replacement and associated cable rehanging works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Brishing Road, Chart Sutton, on or after 14th August 2026 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed approximately 40 metres North of the drive leading to property named Pleasant Acres. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Brishing Road, B2163 Heath Road, Brishing Lane, Brishing Road and vice versa.

Broomfield Road, Kingswood, ME17 3PD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow heavy jet and CCTV works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Broomfield Road, Kingswood, on or after 12th August 2026 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of properties named Medusa and Twin Oaks, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Broomfield Road, Gravelly Bottom Road, Lenham Road, Chegworth Road, A20 Ashford Road, Broomfield Road, Lower Street, Upper Street, Broomfield Road and vice versa.

Buckland Hill, Maidstone, ME16 0SQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow drainage jetting from the railway bridge to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Buckland Hill, Maidstone, on or after 16th August 2026 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed 20 metres either side of railway bridge PWS2/944, between the hours of 06:00 and 18:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Buckland Hill, Buckland Road, St Peters Street and vice versa.

Chartway Street, Sutton Valence, ME17 3HZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow telegraph pole replacement and associated cable rehanging works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Chartway Street, Sutton Valence, on or after 13th August 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of property named The Pines. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

To allow defect works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Dunn Street Road, Bredhurst, on or after 10th August 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Ivy Cottage. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Dunn Street Road, Chapel Lane, Forge Lane, Lidsing Road, Dunn Street, Dunn Street Road and vice versa.

East Street, Hunton, ME15 0RL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow fibre utility asset works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of East Street, Hunton, on or after 12th August 2026 for up to 8 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in its entirety. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via East Street, Hunton Road, Green Lane, Underlyn Lane, B2079 Maidstone Road, A229 Staplehurst Road, A229 Linton Hill, B2163 Heath Road, Upper Hunton Hill, Hunton Hill and vice versa.

George Street, Staplehurst (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow telegraph pole replacement and associated cable rehanging works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of George Street, Staplehurst, on or after 13th August 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed approximately 60 metres East from property named The Grange. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via George Street, Clapper Lane, A229 Maidstone Road and vice versa.

Horseshoes Lane, Langley Heath, ME17 3JZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow footway works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Horseshoes Lane, Langley, on or after 27th July 2026 for up to 35 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with A274 Sutton Road to the junction with Heath Road. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A274 Sutton Road, B2163 Leeds Road, Horseshoes Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained via a diversion in the carriageway.

Howland Road, Marden, TN12 9EP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow telegraph pole replacement and associated cable rehanging works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Howland Road, Marden, on or after 31st July 2026 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Bridgehurst Oast. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Howland Road, B2079 Maidstone Road, A229 Staplehurst Road, A229 Maidstone Road, A229 Station Road, Marden Road, Battle Lane, Howland Road and vice versa.

Kenward Road, Yalding, ME18 6JP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow drainage connection and carriageway resurfacing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Kenward Road, Yalding, on or after 27th July 2026 for up to 33 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from outside property number 22 to the bend in road prior to Court Lodge Farm. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Kenward Road, B2010 Yalding Hill, Small Profits, Hunt Street, Kenward Road and vice versa.

Love Lane, Headcorn (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow highway ditch and headwall repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Love Lane, Headcorn, on or after 27th July 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Smarden Road to the entrance to Homestall Farm. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Love Lane, Smarden Road and vice versa.

Lucks Lane, Chart Sutton (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow telegraph pole replacement and associated cable rehanging works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Lucks Lane, Chart Sutton, on or after 14th August 2026 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed approximately 115 metres East of the junction with Forge Lane. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Sandling Lane, Penenden Heath, ME14 2HG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow new water service connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Sandling Lane, Penenden Heath, on or after 27th July 2026 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from property number 22 to property number 14. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

South Street, Barming, ME15 0LB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow bridge examination works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of South Street, Barming, on or after 10th August 2026 for up to 1 night or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed 20 metres either side of railway bridge PWS1/958, between the hours of 22:00 and 06:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for any through traffic. Access will be maintained where it is safe to do so.

Tattlebury Lane, Headcorn (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Tattlebury Lane, Headcorn, on or after 13th August 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from 20 metres West of junction with Tilden Road to 184 metres West of junction with Tilden Road. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

To allow 2 telegraph pole replacement and associated cable rehanging works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Thorn Road, Marden, on or after 31st July 2026 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.

Water Lane, Harrietsham, ME17 1DD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Water Lane, Harrietsham, on or after 31st July 2026 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Chegworth Road, for a distance approximately 306 metres in an East direction, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 weekday only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Waterman Quarters, Bletchenden, TN27 9JJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
