What is happening?
Highways
Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
FOLKESTONE & HYTHE AREA
Clavertye, Elham (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Clavertye, Elham, on or after 31st July 2026 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed approximately 40m West of the entrance to Silverdale, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Mount Top, Chapel Lane, Gate Lane, High Minnis, Droveway, Clavertye and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Honey Wood Lane, Newchurch (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Honey Wood Lane, Newchurch, on or after 27th July 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside Vincent Farm Cottage, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Honey Wood Lane, Frogmore Lane, From Newchurch To Newchurch Town Boundary, From Newchurch To Junction With Newchurch Road Bilsington And Hony Wood Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Lymbridge Green, Stowting Common, TN25 6BN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Lymbridge Green, Stowting Common, on or after 29th July 2026 for up to 6 hours or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction of Big Pett to outside Yew Tree Farm, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Big Pett, Whatsole Street, From Whatsole Junction With Elchin Hill To Dean Bottom, Dean Bottom, Dean Hill, Thorn Lane, B2068 Stone Street, Lymbridge Green and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Lympne Hill, Lympne (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Lympne Hill, Lympne, on or after 31st July 2026 for up to 6 hours or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions of St Marys Road and Aldington Road, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Lympne Hill, West Hythe Road, Lower Wall Road, Botolphs Bridge Road, A259 Dymchurch Road, A259 Scanlons Bridge, A261 London Road, A261 Hythe Road, A20 Ashford Road, Stone Street, Aldington Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Parade Steps, Folkestone (PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow demolition works to be carried out Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting pedestrians on part of Parade Steps, Folkestone, on or after 28th July 2026 until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions of The Parade and South Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via South Street, The Old High Street, Bail Steps, The Parade and vice versa.
Access for residents will be maintained during the works.
Rampart Road, Hythe, CT21 5BN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Rampart Road, Hythe, on or after 27th July 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside The Tramway Stables, between the hours of 08:00 and 16:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via A259 Rampart Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Saffrons Place, Folkestone, CT20 1RN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Saffrons Place, Folkestone, on or after 27th July 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 1, between the hours of 08:00 and 16:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Stud Farm Lane, Bladbean, CT4 6NA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Stud Farm Lane, Bladbean, on or after 31st July 2026 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed approximately 80m South of the entrance to Bladbean Stud Farm, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Stud Farm Lane, Fir Tree Hill, Beech Villa Lane, Beech Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
The Minnis, Rhodes Minnis, CT4 6XX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of The Minnis, Rhodes Minnis, on or after 31st July 2026 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside Little Pett, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Minnis, Longage Hill, Canterbury Road, Station Road, Broad Street, Sandling Road, Staple Lane, Pilgrims Way, B2068 Stone Street, Mockbeggar, High Minnis and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Warren Road, Folkestone, CT20 1PQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow sewer works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Warren Road, Folkestone, on or after 10th August 2026 for up to 12 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 3, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any Eastbound through traffic is via A260 Southern Way, A2033 Dover Road, Harbour Way, Radnor Bridge Road, Wear Bay Road, Wear Bay Crescent and Warren Road.
The alternative route for any Westbound through traffic is via Warren Road, Wear Bay Crescent, Wear Bay Road, Radnor Bridge Road, Ryland Place and A260 The Tram Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Wills Lane, Newchurch (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Wills Lane, Newchurch, on or after 12th August 2026 for up to 15 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from outside Wills Farm to the junction of Newchurch Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Newchurch Lane, From Newchurch To Junction With Newchurch Road Bilsington And Hony Wood Lane, Newchurch Road, Wills Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Various Roads, Folkestone (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING, 20MPH & 40MPH SPEED LIMIT) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Various Roads, Folkestone, on or after 10th August 2026 for up to 78 days or until the works have been completed.
Restrictions will be imposed to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
A mandatory 20MPH speed limit will be imposed on part of B2068 Stone Street from the junction of B2068 Stanford Bypass for approximately 300m North of the junction of Pilgrims Way. The approaches and exits to this area will have a mandatory 40MPH speed limit imposed.
A mandatory 20MPH speed limit will be imposed on part of B2068 Stanford Bypass from the junction of B2068 Stone Street for approximately 900m North of the junction of A20 Stanford Intersection. The approaches and exits to this area will have a mandatory 40MPH speed limit imposed.
Closures will be imposed as a rolling closure. Once works are completed on one road works will commence on the next.
Blind House Lane will be closed at the junction of B2068 Stone Street.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2068 Stone Street, B2068 Stanford Bypass, B2068 Stanford Intersection, A20 Stanford Intersection, A20 Ashford Road, A20 Barrow Hill, A20 Main Road, Swan Road, Blind House Lane and vice versa.
Pilgrims Way be closed at the junction of B2068 Stone Street.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Pilgrims Way, The Street, Cuckoo Lane, Sandling Road, A20 Sandling Road, A20 Ashford Road, B2068 Stanford Intersection, A20 Stanford Intersection, B2068 Stanford Intersection, B2068 Stanford Bypass, B2068 Stone Street and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
