Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
ASHFORD AREA
A262 Sissinghurst Road, Biddenden. (TEMPORARY 30 MPH SPEED RESTRICTION) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2026
To allow the Biddenden Tractorfest 2026 event to take place, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to impose a temporary mandatory 30 mph speed restriction on part of A262 Sissinghurst Road, Biddenden from 15th August 2026 with estimated completion by 16th August 2026, between the hours of 07:00 and 19:00, or until the event is complete.
The temporary mandatory 30 mph speed restriction on A262 Sissinghurst Road will be imposed between the junctions with Hareplain Road and Fosten Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
A262 Tenterden Road, Biddenden. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2026
To allow water pipe repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of A262 Tenterden Road, Biddenden from 27th July 2026, with estimated completion by 29th July 2026, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of John Page Trailers Ltd, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via A262 Tenterden Road, Biddenden Road, High Halden Lane, Biddenden Road, A28 Ashford Road, Grange Road, Silver Hill, Ashford Road, Beacon Oak Road, East Cross, High Street, West Cross, Rolvenden Road, Rolvenden Hill, Tenterden Road, High Street, Hastings Road, A268 Rye Road, Queen Street, Megrims Hill, Rye Road, A229 Cranbrook Road, Gills Green, Hawkhurst Road, Hartley Road, Orchard Way, Angley Road, Wheatfield Way, Wilsley Green, Wilsley Pound, A262 Sissinghurst Road, The Street, Biddenden Road, Sissinghurst Road, High Street and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Bethersden Road, Bethersden. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2026
To allow water connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Bethersden Road, Bethersden from 1st August 2026, with estimated completion by 3rd August 2026, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Snoad Hill Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Bethersden Road, Sparrow Hatch Lane, Dowle Street Road, Station Road, End Of Pluckley Road At River Beult To Chambers Green Road, Station Approach, Pluckley Road, Fridd Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Fosten Lane, Biddenden. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2026
To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Fosten Lane, Biddenden from 27th July 2026 with estimated completion by 28th July 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed approximately 120m north of the entrance to High Poles Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Fosten Lane, A262 Sissinghurst Road, High Street, Tenterden Road, Benenden Road, Cranbrook Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
High Halden Road, Biddenden, TN27 8JQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2026
To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of High Halden Road, Biddenden from 27th July 2026 with estimated completion by 28th July 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed approximately 150m west of the junction with Wagstaff Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Wagstaff Lane, High Halden Road, High Halden Road From Pb To Pb, Pot Kiln Lane, Smarden Road, Bethersden Road, Biddenden Road, The Cut, A274 Headcorn Road, North Street, Tenterden Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Lower Lees Road, Chilham, CT4 8AX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2026
To allow ducting works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Lower Lees Road, Chilham from 27th July 2026, with estimated completion by 5th August 2026, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 2 Rochester Villas, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Lower Lees Road, Selling Road, New Cut Road, A252 Maidstone Road, A28 Canterbury Road, Shalmsford Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Moons Green, Wittersham, TN30 7PS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2026
To allow water pipe repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Moons Green, Wittersham from 10th August 2026, with estimated completion by 12th August 2026, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Moat Farmhouse, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Moons Green, Swan Street, Poplar Road, Palstre Court Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Shenley Road, Smarden. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2026
To allow drainage works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Shenley Road, Smarden from 27th July 2026, with estimated completion by 29th July 2026, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Haylands Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Shenley Road, Smarden Bell Road, Bell Lane, A274 Headcorn Road From Frittenden Road To Borough Boundary, Biddenden Road, Biddenden Road From Hall Barn Farm To Tile Barn Farm and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Swain Road, Tenterden, TN30 6PG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2026
To allow drainage works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Swain Road, Tenterden from 27th July 2026, with estimated completion by 29th July 2026, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions with Ox Lane and High Bank, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Swain Road, A28 Ashford Road, Silver Hill, B2080 Beacon Oak Road, B2067 Woodchurch Road, Brook Street and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Swan Street, Wittersham, TN30 7PP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2026
To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Swan Street, Wittersham from 29th July 2026 for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction with Moons Green heading approximately 1170m northbound, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Moons Green, Palstre Court Road, Poplar Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
