(Uttlesford District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) (Amendment No.28) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council proposes to make the above Order under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 3(2), 4(1), 4(2), 32(1), 35(1), 45, 46, 49, 53 and Parts III and IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended)

Effect of the order:

1. Implement: ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ Restrictions on the following lengths of road.

This Order will be incorporated into ‘The Essex County Council (Uttlesford District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019’ by substituting tiles TL545 382 and TL545 385 Revision T to Revision 2.

Application to the high court: Anyone who wishes to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act, or any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within six weeks from the date of the making of the Order apply to the High Court for this purpose.

(Bridleway 36, Clavering) (Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

Effect of the order: To temporarily close Bridleway 36, Clavering in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with Langley Road to its junction with Cock Lane approximately 931 metres, the entire length.

Diversion route: Langley Road, Mills Road, Cock Lane and vice versa.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 01 August 2026 to 01 November 2026 where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting. The closure is required for the safety of the public to allow stream bank revetment works to be carried out.

The Order will come into effect on 01 August 2026 may continue in force for 6 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Arkesden Road, Wendens Ambo) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Arkesden Road, Wendens Ambo in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 20m south of its junction with Royston Road for a distance of approximately 100m in a southerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 14th August 2026 for 4 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC411001WGSM0L5V – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole replacement and cabling works are undertaken by Openreach.

An alternative route is available via Arkesden Road, Wenden Road, Church Hill, Clatterbury Lane, Lower Road, Plantation Hill, Mills Road, Langley Road, Langley Lower Green, Park Lane, Bull Lane, Cogmore, School Lane, Upper Pond Street, Lower Pond Street, B1039 and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 23rd July 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Park Street, Thaxted) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) & (Temporary Suspension of 7.5 Tonne Weight Restriction) (Grove Hill, Thaxted) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close that length of Park Street, Thaxted in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 210m south west the south of its junction with Mill End for a distance of 25m in a south westerly direction.
2. To temporarily suspend the 7.5 tonne weight restriction in that length of Grove Hill, Thaxted as cited in “The Essex County Council (B1051 Grove Hill, Stansted Mountfitchet) (Weight Restriction) Order 1987” for the duration of the above closure only.

The closure/suspension is scheduled to commence on 8th August 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX044103200900 – Affinity Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure/suspension is required for the safety of the public and workforce while mains repair works are undertaken by Affinity Water.

The Order will come into effect on 30th July 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Walden Road, Radwinter) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) & (Temporary Introduction of a 40MPH Speed Restriction) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close that length of Walden Road, Radwinter in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with Church Hill for a distance of approximately 2535m in a north westerly direction.
2. To temporarily introduce a 40MPH speed restriction in that length of Walden Road, Radwinter in the District of Uttlesford from a point approximately 170m west of its junction with Church Hill for a distance approximately 3220m in a north westerly direction.

The closure/speed restriction is scheduled to commence on 17th August 2026 for 117 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX047WALDENRD – Affinity Water).

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure/speed restriction is required for the safety of the public and workforce while mains renewal works are undertaken by Affinity Water.

The Order will come into effect on 30th July 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Water Lane, Radwinter) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Water Lane, Radwinter in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with East View Close for a distance of approximately 20m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 18th August 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX04410278762 – Affinity Water Limited).

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while water mains repair works are undertaken by Affinity Water Limited.

The Order will come into effect on 30th July 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Audley Road, Saffron Walden) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Audley Road, Saffron Walden in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with New Road for a distance of approximately 50m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 18th August 2026 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (AD03368112024 – Anglian Water).

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while manhole replacement works are undertaken by Anglian Water.

The Order will come into effect on 30th July 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Bardfield End Green, Thaxted) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Bardfield End Green, Thaxted in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 255m north east of its junction with Bardfield Road for a distance of approximately 180m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 10th August 2026 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC411001WGKLJ47X – Openreach). Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Chrishall Grange Road, Chrishall in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 60m north east of its junction with Hertford Lane for a distance of approximately 130m in a north westerly direction.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Gold Street, Saffron Walden in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction High Street to its junction with Oast House Court for a distance of approximately 65m. Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Royston Road, Wendens Ambo in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with Duck Street for a distance of approximately 490m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 3rd August 2026 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30027325434 – UK Power Networks). Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of School Lane, Elmdon in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with Upper Pond Street for a distance of approximately 50m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 5th August 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX04410293040 – Affinity Water Limited).

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Sheepcote Green Lane, Clavering in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 140m south west of its junction with Langley Road for a distance of approximately 55m in a south westerly direction. Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close that length of Stevens Lane, Felsted in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with Rayne Road for a distance of approximately 40m in a north easterly direction.
2. To temporarily close that length of Stevens Lane, Felsted in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with Rayne Road, for a distance of approximately 25m in a north westerly direction.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Walden Road, Ashdon in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with Puddle Wharf Lane for a distance of 265m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 2nd August 2026 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008WGTMW0BPTSB – Openreach Limited). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.
