Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council proposes to make the above Order under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 3(2), 4(1), 4(2), 32(1), 35(1), 45, 46, 49, 53 and Parts III and IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended)

Effect of the order:

  1. Implement: ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ Restrictions on the following lengths of road.

B1053 Radwinter Road, Saffron Walden

North Side: From a point approximately 10 metres east of the access road to Lidl supermarket west for approximately 33 metres.


South Side:


(i) (Measured from western kerb line) From a point approximately 39 metres west of the access road to Lidl supermarket, east for approximately 39 metres.


(ii) (Measured from the eastern kerb line) From a point approximately 10 metres east of the access road to Lidl Supermarket, west for approximately 10 metres.


(iii) (Measured from western kerb line) From a point approximately 116 metres west of the access road to Lidl supermarket west for approximately 21 metres.

This Order will be incorporated into ‘The Essex County Council (Uttlesford District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019’ by substituting tiles TL545 382 and TL545 385 Revision T to Revision 2.

(Bridleway 36, Clavering) (Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

Effect of the order: To temporarily close Bridleway 36, Clavering in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with Langley Road to its junction with Cock Lane approximately 931 metres, the entire length.

Diversion route: Langley Road, Mills Road, Cock Lane and vice versa.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 01 August 2026 to 01 November 2026 where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting. The closure is required for the safety of the public to allow stream bank revetment works to be carried out.

The Order will come into effect on 01 August 2026 may continue in force for 6 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Arkesden Road, Wendens Ambo) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Arkesden Road, Wendens Ambo in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 20m south of its junction with Royston Road for a distance of approximately 100m in a southerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 14th August 2026 for 4 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC411001WGSM0L5V – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole replacement and cabling works are undertaken by Openreach.

The Order will come into effect on 23rd July 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Park Street, Thaxted) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) & (Temporary Suspension of 7.5 Tonne Weight Restriction) (Grove Hill, Thaxted) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

  1. To temporarily close that length of Park Street, Thaxted in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 210m south west the south of its junction with Mill End for a distance of 25m in a south westerly direction.
  2. To temporarily suspend the 7.5 tonne weight restriction in that length of Grove Hill, Thaxted as cited in “The Essex County Council (B1051 Grove Hill, Stansted Mountfitchet) (Weight Restriction) Order 1987” for the duration of the above closure only.

The closure/suspension is scheduled to commence on 8th August 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX044103200900 – Affinity Water). The closure/suspension is required for the safety of the public and workforce while mains repair works are undertaken by Affinity Water.

The Order will come into effect on 30th July 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Walden Road, Radwinter) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) & (Temporary Introduction of a 40MPH Speed Restriction) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

  1. To temporarily close that length of Walden Road, Radwinter in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with Church Hill for a distance of approximately 2535m in a north westerly direction.
  2. To temporarily introduce a 40MPH speed restriction in that length of Walden Road, Radwinter in the District of Uttlesford from a point approximately 170m west of its junction with Church Hill for a distance approximately 3220m in a north westerly direction.

The closure/speed restriction is scheduled to commence on 17th August 2026 for 117 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX047WALDENRD – Affinity Water).

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Water Lane, Radwinter in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with East View Close for a distance of approximately 20m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 18th August 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX04410278762 – Affinity Water Limited).

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Audley Road, Saffron Walden in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with New Road for a distance of approximately 50m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 18th August 2026 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (AD03368112024 – Anglian Water).
