Hertfordshire - Multiple Road Traffic Notices

HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:
(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF WORSTED LANE, LITTLE HORMEAD) ORDER NO.2 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Worsted Lane, Little Hormead from a point 480m south west of its junction with The Street north eastwards for a distance of approximately 100m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via B1368 (unnamed road), B1038 (unnamed road/Conduit Lane/Pump Hill), C15 (unnamed road), Ginns Road, The Wash and The Street.

The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing telegraph pole is proposed to be executed near the Road. 

The Order will come into effect from 25 July 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 1 day to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF VARIOUS ROADS IN
WALTHAM CROSS, CHESHUNT, HODDESDON AND WALKERN) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access:-

1. that length of Bisley Close, Waltham Cross from its junction with Park Lane north eastwards for its entire length.

There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.

2. that length of Leyland Close, Cheshunt from its junction with A10 Great Cambridge Road north westwards for its entire length.
There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.

3. that length of Maybury Avenue, Cheshunt from its junction with B156 Flamstead End Road eastwards for its entire length. 
There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.

4. that length of Pine Close, Cheshunt from its junction with A10 Great Cambridge Road north westwards for its entire length. There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.

5. that length of River Avenue, Hoddesdon from its junction with Rye Road southwards and south eastwards to its junction with Stortford Road, a distance of approximately 358m. An alternative route will be via Rye Road, Gladstone Road and Stortford Road.

6. that length of Swanfield Road, Waltham Cross from its junction with Central Avenue south eastwards to its junction with Eastern Avenue, a distance of approximately 78m.

There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.

7. that length of Totts Lane, Walkern from its junction with B1037 High Street south eastwards, north eastwards, south eastwards and north eastwards to its junction with Winters Lane, a distance of approximately 275m.

An alternative route will be via B1037 High Street and Winters Lane. The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

The Order will come into effect from 24 July 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 7 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

THE HERTFORDSHIRE (PORT VALE AND RUSSELL STREET, HERTFORD) (RESTRICTION OF WAITING) ORDER 2025 THE HERTFORDSHIRE (PORT VALE, HERTFORD)
(PROHIBITION OF STOPPING ON ENTRANCE MARKINGS) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council has made Orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (1984 Act) to introduce new ‘at any time’ waiting restrictions and a no stopping ‘at any time’ on school keep clear markings prohibition in parts of Hertford as specified in the Schedules to this Notice. The Orders will come into effect on Wednesday 5 August 2026.

Documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders may be viewed from 23 July 2026 to 3 September 2026 during office hours at Main Reception, Farnham House, Six Hills Way, Stevenage or online at www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/trafficorders by selecting East Herts and looking at Ref: EH01125.

Any person wishing to question the validity of the Orders, or any of their provisions, on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the 1984 Act, or that any requirement of the 1984 Act or any Instrument made under it has not been complied with may, within 6 weeks from the date of this Notice, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
