Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council proposes to make the above Order under sections 84(1)(A) and 2, and Parts II of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

Effect of the order:

To Implement: a ‘20mph Zone’ on the following length of roads, in the City of Colchester, including private drives and turning heads.

Stonefield Drive, Great Tey

From a point approximately 7 metres east of its junction with Newbarn Road, for the rest of its remaining lengths, (approximately 195 metres)

Starflower Lane, Great Tey

From its junction with Stonefield Drive for its entire length (approximately 91 metres)

'The Essex County Council (Stonefield Drive, Starflower Lane, Great Tey, City of Colchester) (20mph Zone) Order 2026’ is hereby revoked in its entirety on the date of this order.

Date of operation: The Order will come into operation on 27 July 2026

This Order will be incorporated into The Essex County Council (Colchester City) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019 by substituting map tile: TL930 262 Rev 0 – Rev 1 and Introducing tiles: TL930 260 and TL930 265.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close Footpath 36, West Mersea in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Reymead Close to its junction with Vince Close for approximately 38 metres.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 30 July 2026 to 3 August 2026 or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Berchurch Road, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Earlswood Way to its junction with Chariot Drive a distance of approximately 655m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 18th August 2026 for 1 night – (19:00-05:00) or where stated on a valid permit (EP02271766717 – Topbond). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while bridge maintenance works are undertaken by Topbond.

An alternative route is available via Berchurch Road, B1025, Berchurch Hall Road, Berchurch Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 30th July 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Bourne Road, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Brookside Close to its junction with Old Heath Road a distance of approximately 350m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 19th August 2026 for 45 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30066889250 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

(Boxted Road, Great Horkesley) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Boxted Road, Great Horkesley in the City of Colchester, from its junction with The Causeway for a distance of approximately 20m in an easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 17th August 2026 for 12 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008WG3PH46J01SB – Openreach Limited). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce to allow access for overhead cabling and tree cutting works to be undertaken by Openreach Limited.

An alternative route is available via The Causeway, Ivy Lodge Road, Horkesley Road, Straight Road, Queens Head Road, Boxted Road and vice versa.

(Church Road & Holly Way, Elmstead) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

  1. To temporarily close that length of Church Road, Elmstead in the District of Tendring, from its junction with Colchester Road for a distance of approximately 385m in a north easterly direction.

  2. To temporarily close that length of Holly Way, Elmstead in the District of Tendring, from its junction with Church Road for a distance of approximately 20m in north westerly direction.

The closures are scheduled to commence on 17th August 2026 for 36 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AZ5011001517549 & AZ5011001518353 – Cadent Gas).

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Clacton Road, Weeley Heath in the District of Tendring, from its junction with Botany Lane for a distance of approximately 30m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 17th August 2026 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30078760502 – UK Power Networks). Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Tog Lane, Great Horkesley in the City of Colchester, from its junction with The Causeway for a distance of approximately 865m in a south westerly, south easterly, south westerly, north westerly then south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 17th August 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008WG3PH46JSB – Openreach). Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
