(ROMAN ROAD, BEARSDEN)

(TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2026

On 23 July 2026 the East Dunbartonshire Council made the above named Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, which makes it unlawful for any person to drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle (with the exception of emergency service vehicles, vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties and land adjacent to the closed section of road when its safe and practical to do so) on that section of Roman Road, Bearsden, between its junction with the A809 Drymen Road, Bearsden and its junction with Roman Drive, Bearsden, by reason of works being executed on or near this road.

This Order will operate from 06.00 hours on Monday 03 August 2026 until 23.59 hours on Monday 07 September 2026.

Alternative Routes

The alternative routes will be by way of Roman Road, the A81 Milngavie Road, MacFarlane Road, Canniesburn Toll Roundabout, the A809 Drymen Road, and the A809 Stockiemuir Road, Bearsden; and the B8050 Craigdhu Road, Park Road, and Main Street, Milngavie, and these routes will be sign posted.

Phasing of the Works

The temporary road closure will be carried out in various phases and temporary traffic signals will also be in place for phases of the works. East Dunbartonshire Council, East Dunbartonshire Council Headquarters, 12 Strathkelvin Place, Kirkintilloch, G66 1TJ
