WEST BERKSHIRE DISTRICT COUNCIL (THE COUNCIL)
INTENDS TO MAKE ORDERS AS FOLLOWING
(WALKERS LANE, LAMBOURN)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2026
The Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Walkers Lane in Lambourn between its junction with B4001 Oxford Street and its junction with Goose Green.
The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via B4001 Oxford Street, The Broadway, Goose Green, Walkers Lane and vice versa.
The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for Thames Water to carry out service pipe repair.
The proposed Order will come into effect on 15th July 2026. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 15th and 17th July 2026.
(COCK LANE/STANFORD DINGLEY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2026
The Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Cock Lane in Standford Dingley between its junction with Back Lane to its junction with Unnamed Road from Chapel Row to Stanford Dingley.
The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via Cock Lane, Stanford Road, Hungerford Lane, South End Road, Union Road, Common Hill, Ashampstead Road, Back Lane and vice versa.
The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for Thames Water to carry out sewer repairs.
The proposed Order will come into effect on 27th July 2026. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 27th July and 5th August 2026.
(LAYLANDS GREEN, KINTBURY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2026
The Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Laylands Green in Kintbury between its junction with Dunn Crescent and its junction with The Millards.
The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via Laylands Green, Burtons Hill, Newbury Street, Station Road, Inkpen Road and vice versa.
The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for Openreach to install cable.
The proposed Order will come into effect on 27th July 2026. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 27th and 31st July 2026.
(STANMORE, BEEDON)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2026
The Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Stanmore in Beedon between its junction with Beedon Hill and its junction with Hailey Lane.
The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via Beedon Hill, World’s End, Old Street, Unnamed Road from Mud Lane to Old Street, Mud Lane, Hill Green, Hailey Lane and vice versa.
The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for Thames Water to carry out new service connection and disconnection works.
The proposed Order will come into effect on 29th July 2026. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 29th July and 4th August 2026.
(CHURCHWAY/WEST ILSLEY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2026
The Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an order in accordance with Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Churchway in West Ilsley between its junction with West Ilsley Stables to outside property known as The Poplars.
There is no signed diversion route. Access will be maintained up to the point of the closure from either direction.
The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for Thames Water to install a permanent pressure monitor point.
The proposed Order will come into effect on 28th July 2026. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 28th and 31st July 2026.
Unless stated otherwise the above orders shall remain in force for a period of eighteen months, or until the works are complete, whichever is the soonest, they will not take effect until approved traffic signs have been erected. Final details of the closure can be
