What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(THE CAUSEWAY, CLOPHILL)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of The Causeway, Clophill outside number 12.

This temporary closure is required to enable stop tap replacement work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 19 to 21 August 2026. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure will be via A507, A6, High St and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 19 August 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(FLITTON HILL, FLITTON)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Flitton Hill, Flitton outside number 10.

This temporary closure is required to enable meter exchange work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

The alternative route for this closure will be via Ampthill Rd, Silsoe Rd, Wardhedges Rd and vice versa.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Weathercock Lane, Aspley Guise opposite Haden Cottage.

This temporary closure is required to enable new electricity supply works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 17 to 19 August 2026. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route will be via Aspley Hill, High St, Station Rd and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 17 August 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Old Water End, Eversholt outside The Stables.

This temporary closure is required to enable vxo installation work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 17 to 18 August 2026 between the hours 0800-1800 The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure will be via Higher Rads End, Tingrith Rd, Old Water End and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 17 August 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(AMPTHILL TO MAULDEN BYPASS, AMPTHILL)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Ampthill to Maulden Bypass, Ampthill at the A507 Footbridge.

This temporary closure is required to enable bridge painting work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 3 to 14 August from 0900-1530hrs.

The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via A6, A421, A507 and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 3 August 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(SILVER END ROAD, HAYNES)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Silver End Rd, Haynes outside number 36.

This temporary closure is required to enable new water connection work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 3 to 7 August 2026. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Northwood End Rd, A600 and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 3 August 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(RIDGMONT: PARTS OF BRIDLEWAY NO 4 AND FOOTPATH NO 13)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023

Notice is hereby given that the Order made by Central Bedfordshire Council on 21 July 2023 the effect of which will be to prohibit any person proceeding on foot or on horseback or lead a horse or cycle along the length of:

I.   Bridleway No 4, Ridgmont which extends from Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) SP 9762 3669 to OS GR SP 9720 3652  and to prohibit any person proceeding on foot along the length of:

II.  Footpath No 13, Ridgmont which extends from OS GR SP 9744 3676 to OS GR SP 9712 3660  ha s been continued in force with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport until 28 July 2027.

These temporary closures are required as there is a missing bridge crossing. The closures are expected to continue from 29 July 2026 for up to twelve months.

The alternative route for footpath and bridleway users while the closure is in operation is along Station Road.

The Order will continue in force until 28 July 2027 or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier. If the works are not completed within twelve months the Order may be extended for a longer period with the consent of the Secretary of State for Transport.
