Stanley - Parking & Waiting Restrictions, Including New & Amended Parking Controls

THE COUNTY COUNCIL OF DURHAM (STANLEY, EAST STANLEY, SHIELD ROW & TANFIELD LEA) (PARKING AND WAITING RESTRICTIONS) (CONSOLIDATION NO.1) ORDER 2017 AMENDMENT NO.1 ORDER 2026

The Council intend to make an Order under Sections 1, 2, 4, 32 & 35 and Pt. IV of Sch. 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, ("the Act"), the effect of which is to introduce ‘No Waiting At Any Time’ restrictions on: a. the southern side of Chester Road (A693), from a point 7 metres east of the junction of Chester Road Estate and Chester Road for a distance of 42 metres in a westerly direction. b) the northern side of Wear Road (B6532), from a point 3 metres north east of the boundary of No.2 and No.4 Wear Road, for a distance of 43 metres in a north-westerly direction leading into Oakfields junction. c) the southern side of Wear Road (B6532), from a point 3 metres north east of the boundary of No.2 and No.4 Wear Road, for a distance of 16 metres in a westerly direction. d) the eastern side of Beamish Street Rear, from a point adjacent to No. 5 Royal Road, for a distance of 8 metres in a south westerly direction. e) the northern side of Pelaw Avenue, from a point 7 metres south east of the boundary of No.46 and No.47 Hillside Gardens, for a distance of 29 metres in a north easterly direction into Hillside Gardens. f) the southern side of Hillside Gardens, from a point 18 metres south west of the boundary of No.73 and No.72 Hillside Gardens, for a distance of 33 metres in a westerly then south easterly direction into Pelaw Avenue. g) the western side of Murray Park, from a point 4 metres south of No.5 Murray Park, for a distance of 5 metres in a northerly direction. h) the northern side of Tanfield Lea Road, from a point 35 metres north-west of No.1 Margret Terrace, for a distance of 50 metres in a north westerly direction. i) the southern side of Tanfield Lea Road, starting from a point adjacent to 35 metres north west of No.1 Margret Terrace, for a distance of 49 metres in a north-westerly direction.

To introduce ‘Loading Only’ bays on: The northern side of Anthony Street, from a point adjacent to 35 Front Street, for a distance of 7 metres in a south easterly direction.

To introduce ‘Disabled Badge Holder’s Only bays’ on: The north of Stanley Bus Station, from a starting point 7 metres south west from the gable end of Stanley Bus Station, for 4 metres in a north-easterly direction.

To introduce ‘No Stopping Except Taxis’ restrictions on: The north of Bus Station, from a starting point 5 metres south west from the gable end of Stanley Bus Station, for 8 metres in a south westerly direction.

To amend the existing ‘Restricted Waiting, Mon-Fri, 8am-6pm’ restrictions and replace with ‘No Waiting At Any Time’ restrictions on: The east side of Slaidburn Road from a point 10 metres south of the junction of Slaidburn Road and High Street, for a distance of 22 metres in a southerly direction.

To amend the existing ‘8am-8pm, 2Hours max stay, 2 hours no return’ restrictions, and replace with ‘Loading Only, Mon-Fri, 8am-6pm’ restrictions on: The southern side of High Street from a point 4 metres east of the west boundary of No.1 High Street, for a distance of 6 metres in an easterly direction.

To amend the existing ‘No Waiting, No Loading’ restrictions, and replace with ‘No Stopping Except Taxis’ restrictions on: The southern side of Front Street from a point 10 metres south west of the junction of Front Street and Scott Street, for a distance of 11 metres in a south westerly direction.

To amend the existing ‘No Stopping Except Taxis’ restrictions, and replace with ‘Disabled Badge Holders Only’ restrictions: The southern side of Front Street from a point 39 metres south west of the junction of Front Street and Scott Street for a distance of 13 metres in a south easterly direction.

To amend the existing ‘No Stopping Except Taxis’ restrictions, and replace with ‘8am-8pm, 2Hours max stay, 2 hours no return’ restrictions on: The southern side of Front Street from a point 52 metres south west of the junction of Front Street and Scott Street for a distance of 57 metres in a southwesterly direction.

To remove existing ‘No waiting at any time’ restrictions: The west side of Station Road from a point 5 metres north of the boundary of No.14 and No.16 Station Road, for a distance of 30 metres in a northerly direction.

All other restrictions in this locality will remain unaffected.
