East Cambridgeshire - Multiple Traffic Notices for Temporary Road Closures and Restrictions

NOTICE is given that Cambridgeshire County Council intends after 7 days, to make an Order pursuant to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which:

Victoria Street, Littleport Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic – Order 2026-20683

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Victoria Street, Littleport as lies between points 20m either side of the railway level crossing situated there as measured from its gates or barriers. The alternative route for vehicles is via Victoria St; White Hart Ln; City Rd; White Hart Ln; Station Rd; Lynn Rd; A10; New River Bank; Victoria St & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate essential maintenance works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 10/8/26 & continue until these works have finished or on the 9/7/28 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 22:30hrs 10/8 & 05:00hrs 11/8/26.

Downham Byway 43, Little Downham Temporary Prohibition of Use – Order 2026-20710

Is to stop any vehicle, cyclist, pedestrian & equestrian from proceeding along Downham Byway 43, Little Downham as lies between 20m either side of the level crossing gates or barriers. The alternative route for vehicles, cyclists, pedestrians & equestrians will be as signed. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate essential maintenance works which are being carried out on or near this highway. It is anticipated that these works will take place between 22:30hrs 25/8 & 05:00hrs 26/8/26, when the restriction is expected to be in operation. The Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 6 months from the date it comes into effect to permit the works & any associated contingencies including delays or phased delivery of the works.

Wellington Street (C315), Littleport Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic – Order 2026-20714

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Wellington Street C315, Littleport as lies between Granary Street & Granary Lane. The alternative route for vehicles is via Wellington St; Wisbech Rd; Camel Rd; A10; Lynn Rd; Station Rd & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate new water connection & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 4/8/26 & continue until these works have finished or on the 3/2/28 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 4/8 & 6/8/26.

Chapel Lane, Wicken Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic – Order 2026-20716

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Chapel Lane, Wicken as lies between No. 38a & Augustine Plc. The alternative route for vehicles is via Chapel Ln; A1123; Butts Ln; Drury Ln & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate new water connection & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 5/8/26 & continue until these works have finished or on the 4/2/28 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 5/8 & 7/8/26.

Tan House Lane & Mandeville, Burwell Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic – Order 2026-20725

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Tan House Lane & Mandeville, Burwell as lies between Reach Road & Spring Close. The alternative route for vehicles is via B1105; Reach Rd & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate electrical service installation & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 17/8/26 & continue until these works have finished or on the 16/2/28 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 17/8 & 18/8/26.

Station Road, Littleport Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic – Order 2026-20728

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Station Rd, Littleport as lies between Nos 41a & 42c. The alternative route for vehicles is via Station Rd, Littleport; Wellington St C315; Crown Ln; High St; Ely Rd; Grange Ln; A10; Lynn Rd & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate new water connection & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 18/8/26 & continue until these works have finished or on the 17/2/28 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 18/8 & 20/8/26.

Camel Road C132, Littleport Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic – Order 2026-20747

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Camel Road C132, Littleport as lies between No. 44 & Horsley Hale. The alternative route for vehicles is via Wisbech Rd; A10; Camel Rd & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate new gas connection & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway. It is anticipated that these works will take place between 26/8 & 28/8/26, when the restriction is expected to be in operation. The Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months from the date it comes into effect to permit the works & any associated contingencies including delays or phased delivery of the works.

Malting Lane, Isleham Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic – Order 2026-20748

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Malting Ln, Isleham as lies between No 1 & Croft Rd. The alternative route for vehicles is via B1104; B1102; Freckenham Rd, Freckenham; Beck Rd; Beck Rd C144, Isleham & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate telegraph pole replacement & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway. It is anticipated that these works will take place between 4/8 & 5/8/26, when the restriction is expected to be in operation. The Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months from the date it comes into effect to permit the works & any associated contingencies including delays or phased delivery of the works.

High Street, Stretham Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic – Order 2026-20754

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along High St, Stretham as lies between Nos 14 & 22. The alternative route for vehicles is via Ely Rd C160, Stretham; A10; Wilburton Rd; High St & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate telegraph pole replacement & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway. It is anticipated that these works will take place between 6/8 & 7/8/26, when the restriction is expected to be in operation. The Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months from the date it comes into effect to permit the works & any associated contingencies including delays or phased delivery of the works.

Witcham Road, Mepal Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic – Order 2026-20811

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Witcham Road, Mepal as lies between Broadmead & The Oaks. The alternative route for vehicles is via Martins Ln; The Slade; A142; Sutton Rd & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate new water connection & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway. It is anticipated that these works will take place between 4/8 & 6/8/26, when the restriction is expected to be in operation. The Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months from the date it comes into effect to permit the works & any associated contingencies including delays or phased delivery of the works.

Lynn Road, Ely Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic – Order 2026-20812

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Lynn Road, Ely as lies outside Brick Kiln Farm. The alternative route for vehicles is via Lynn Road; B1382; B4144; A10; Grange Ln; Ely Rd & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate new water connection & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway. It is anticipated that these works will take place between 26/8 & 28/8/26, when the restriction is expected to be in operation. The Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months from the date it comes into effect to permit the works & any associated contingencies including delays or phased delivery of the works.

Lynn Road, Ely Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic – Order 2026-20816

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Lynn Road, Ely as lies between Orchid Fields & Cottongrass Lane. The alternative route for vehicles is via Ely Rd, Littleport; Crown Ln; Wisbech Rd; A10; B1411; Egremont St, Ely; Lynn Rd & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate S278 entrance construction & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway. It is anticipated that these works will take place between 1/8 & 31/8/26, when the restriction is expected to be in operation. The Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months from the date it comes into effect to permit the works & any associated contingencies including delays or phased delivery of the works.

Station Road, Isleham Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic – Order 2026-20822

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Station Road, Isleham as lies between No. 31 & Track entrance. The alternative route for vehicles is via B1104; B1382; A1101; B1102 & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate access reinstatement & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway. It is anticipated that these works will take place between 3/8 & 7/8/26, when the restriction is expected to be in operation. The Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months from the date it comes into effect to permit the works & any associated contingencies including delays or phased delivery of the works.

Fordham Road, Soham Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic – Order 2026-20823

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Fordham Road, Soham as lies between Skimmer Chase & Road between Orchard Row & Wicken Road C143. The alternative route for vehicles is via Fordham Rd; A142; The Shade; Townsend; Hall St; Pratt St; Churchgate St; High St; Sand St; Fordham Rd & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate S50 sewer connection & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway. It is anticipated that these works will take place between 17/8 & 28/8/26, when the restriction is expected to be in operation. The Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months from the date it comes into effect to permit the works & any associated contingencies including delays or phased delivery of the works.

Hundred Foot Bank, Sutton & Hundred Foot Bank, Haddenham Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic – Order 2026-20827

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Hundred Foot Bank, Sutton & Hundred Foot Bank, Haddenham as lies between Hundred Foot Bank, Haddenham & Chain Causeway, Sutton or A1123 & Hundred Foot Bank, Sutton respectively. The alternative route for vehicles is via A1123; A1421; A142; B1381 & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate carriageway resurfacing, coring investigations & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway. It is anticipated that these works will take place between 1/8 & 21/8/26, when the restriction is expected to be in operation. The Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months from the date it comes into effect to permit the works & any associated contingencies including delays or phased delivery of the works.

Mill Drove, Soham Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic – Order 2026-20838

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Mill Drove, Soham as lies between Mill Corner & Soham Footpath 110. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate carriageway resurfacing, coring investigations & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway. It is anticipated that these works will take place between 1/8 & 15/8/26, when the restriction is expected to be in operation. The Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months from the date it comes into effect to permit the works & any associated contingencies including delays or phased delivery of the works.

Ely Road A142, Soham; Soham Road A142, Stuntney & The Shade A142, Soham Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic – Order 2026-20887

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Ely Road A142, Soham; Soham Road A142, Stuntney & The Shade A142, Soham as lies between M&S, Simply Food & Ben’s Yard. The alternative route for vehicles is via A142; A14; A10; A142 & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate carriageway resurfacing & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway. It is anticipated that these works will take place between 1/8 & 15/8/26, when the restriction is expected to be in operation. The Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months from the date it comes into effect to permit the works & any associated contingencies including delays or phased delivery of the works.

Hillrow Causeway & Hillrow, Haddenham Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic – Order 2026-20891

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Hillrow Causeway & Hillrow, Haddenham as lies between Green Lane & Hundred Foot Bank. Access will be maintained to properties affected by this order. The alternative route for vehicles is via A1123; A10; A14; A1307; A1096; A1123 & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate carriageway resurfacing, coring investigations & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway. It is anticipated that these works will take place between 19/8 & 24/8/26, when the restriction is expected to be in operation.

Station Road B1104, Isleham Temporary 40mph & 30mph Speed Limit – Order 2026-20893

Is to impose a 40mph & 30mph speed limit along Station Road B1104, Isleham as lies between No. 38 & track entrance. The Order will be effective, for safety purposes, when signs are in place indicating the speed limit along the whole or any part of the above mentioned length of road whilst works are in progress or temporarily suspended. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate water main, site entrance & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway. It is anticipated that these works will take place between 10/8/26 & 12/2/27, when the restriction is expected to be in operation. The Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months from the date it comes into effect to permit the works & any associated contingencies including delays or phased delivery of the works.

Low Road, Burwell Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic – Order 2026-21030

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Low Road, Burwell as lies between Hythe Lane & Parsonage Lane. The alternative route for vehicles is via Parsonage Ln; Park Rd; Hall Ln; B1102; The Causeway C221; Newnham Ln; Hythe Ln & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate gully cleaning & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway. It is anticipated that these works will take place between 17/8 & 19/8/26, when the restriction is expected to be in operation. The Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months from the date it comes into effect to permit the works & any associated contingencies including delays or phased delivery of the works.

Various Roads, East Cambridgeshire Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic – Order 2026-20727

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along various roads, as set out in Schedule 1 below. Nothing in this Order shall prevent access & egress from premises or land adjacent to the highway mentioned in Schedule 1. The Order is necessary for safety reasons to facilitate footway slurry sealing & associated works. The proposed Order will come into operation on 1/8/26 & will continue until these works have finished or on the 31/1/28 whichever is the earlier.

Schedule 1 – Road Closures

Access will be maintained to properties affected by these orders. The above orders shall not apply to any persons lawfully engaged in connection with any works for which these are made, any member of the Police Force, Fire & Rescue Service, Ambulance Service, a vehicle being used by Special Forces during the execution of their duties or to any person acting with the permission or upon the direction of Police Officer in uniform.
