Brandon Road - Temporary Road Closure Due To Manhole Construction Works
What is happening?
The County Council of Durham (Brandon Road Rear, Esh Winning) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2026
The Council proposes to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from proceeding on the following length of road.
A 94 metres length of Brandon Road Rear, Esh Winning to the rear of No. 1-17 Brandon Road and No. 55 Acton Road to enable new manhole construction works to be undertaken. Throughout the period of the closure, a diversion will be available to vehicular traffic to the front of Brandon Road. The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The works are required from 8am on Monday 10/8/2026 and for the duration of the works anticipated to be 12 days. On occasions, alternative dates for the closure may be necessary and these will be signed on site accordingly.
