(STEWARTBY PUBLIC FOOTPATH NOS 1 AND 2)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the order made by Bedford Borough Council on 23rd January 2026 the effect of which will be to prohibit any person proceeding on foot along Stewartby Footpath Nos 1 and 2 the length of which extends from Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 0175 4460 to OS GR TL 0343 4413 to OS GR TL 0229 4332 has been continued in force with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport until 28th July 2027.
This closure is required to secure site for works, security and safety during development. The closure will continue from Wednesday 29th July 2026.
There is no alternative routes for users while the closure is in operation.
The Order will come into operation on 29th July 2026 for a period not exceeding one year or until the works which it is proposed to carry out on or near to the footpaths have been completed, whichever is the earlier. If the works are not completed within one year the Order may be extended for a longer period with the consent of the Secretary of State for Transport.
