What is happening?

Somerset Council Parish of Taunton Temporary Closure of South Street

Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, propose to make an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along: South Street - from outside property number 71 South Street to outside property number 81 South Street. A total distance of 18 metres. This Order will enable Network Plus to provide a new electricity supply on behalf of National Grid.

The Order becomes effective on 6th August 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months. The works are expected to commence on 10th August 2026 and last until 14th August 2026 between the hours of 00:00 - 23:59 for a total of 5 days.
