Proposed Raised Signal-Controlled Pedestrian Facility
(Pedex Pedestrian Crossing) in Chaldon Road, Caterham
SURREY COUNTY COUNCIL in exercise of their powers under Section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and Section 90(A) to (I) of the Highways Act 1980, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Section 23(2)(A) of the said Act of 1984, propose to install a raised stand-alone signal-controlled pedestrian facility (Pedex Crossing) on Chaldon Road (B2031) Caterham.
The Pedex crossing will be located 22.8m southwest of the centreline of the junction of Chaldon Road with Heath Road (D1426) on a flat-top road table.
The crossing will be 4m wide, centred on the new flat top road table that will extend over the 6.5m reduced width carriageway and will measure 75mm in height and 7.5m in length with 1.5m ramps (1:20 gradient), with a total length of 10.5m.
