What is happening?
TRAFFIC ORDER
On 20 July 2026, Angus Council made The Angus Council (Horniehaugh Bridge, Memus) (Temporary Prohibition of Driving) Order 2026, under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to allow bridge repair work to be undertaken. The Order will come into force on Monday, 27 July 2026, from which date it is anticipated that the work will last for a period of five weeks. However, the maximum duration in terms of the Act is 18 months. The effect of the Order is to prohibit the driving of any vehicle in or upon the U401 Burnside of Inshewen Road (C30) from its junction with the U401 Burnside of Inshewen Road (C30) (Branch 3) in a north-easterly direction for a distance of 1.4km or thereby. Access for pedestrians and emergency vehicles will be maintained. There is no alternative route. Full details of the Order are available at www.angus.gov.uk/trafficorders.
