(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 222) 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds to complete repairs & painting to be carried out as follows:
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: School Lane, Walton, near number 4 at the Network Rail bridge. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of School Lane.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Greenside, Shay Lane, School Lane & vice versa.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 30th July 2026 to 31st July 2026 between 22.00 hours to 05.00 hours or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds resurfacing works to be carried out as follows:
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Brandy Carr Road, Kirkhamgate full length from Batley Road to Bradford Road. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Brandy Carr Road.

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Applehaigh Lane, Notton from Number 4 to the junction with George Lane. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Applehaigh Lane.

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Hill Top Road, Newmillerdam opposite number 35. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Hill Top Road.

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Park Mill Lane, Flushdyke full length junction of Batley Road to junction of A638 Wakefield Road. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Park Mill Lane.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Batley Road, Flanshaw Lane, Dewsbury Road, Wakefield Road & vice versa.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 236) 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds for NPG new electric connection works to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Headlands Walk, Ossett outside numbers 11 to 15 to opposite numbers 8 to 10. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Headlands walk.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: No diversion. Cul de sac.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 11th August 2026 to 17th August 2026, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 238) 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds for works to sub station on behalf of Northern Powergrid to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Clifford Avenue, Wakefield for approximately 50 metres. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Clifford Avenue.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Milnthorpe Avenue, Manygates Lane, Duke of York Avenue.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 10th August 2026 to 11th September 2026, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds for Northern Powergrid new connection to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Dimple Gardens, Ossett outside number 15. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Dimple Gardens.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: No diversion. Access only.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 10th August 2026 at 08.00 hours to 14th August 2026 at 18.00 hours, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC & TEMPORARY REVOCATION OF WEIGHT RESTRICTION) ORDER (NO 243) 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds for footway & carriageway resurfacing works to be carried out as follows:-
ROADS TO BE AFFECTED: Batley Road, Wakefield one way closure between Flanshaw Road and Grasmere Road. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Batley Road.
RESTRICTION: Temporary 7.5 tonne HGV weight limit suspension on Flanshaw Lane.
PERIOD OF RESTRICTION: From and including 10th August 2026 to 19th August 2026 between 09.30 hours and 15.30 hours or until completion of the work, whichever is soonest.
DIVERSION: Vehicle diversion – Flanshaw Lane, Flanshaw Road & vice versa. Pedestrian diversion – Grasmere Road, Eskdale Road, Flanshaw Road & vice versa.
