Notice of Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic
Banbury, Cherwell Street junctions
Date of Order: 29 June 2026
Coming into force: 6 July 2026

This Order is being introduced because of Resurfacing works as part of the Cherwell St Improvement Scheme works which are to be completed 15 July. This will operate between 20:00 and 06:00hrs. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in the following junctions joining into Cherwell Street: Concord Avenue, Windsor St, Bridge St, Lower Cherwell St, George St. Exemptions are included for emergency vehicles and the Works. Access for buses will be maintained but via Bridge St only. Access will be maintained for cyclists and pedestrians. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Alternative routes will be signed locally. This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T18033/AC)

Coming into force: 19 August 2026

This Order is being introduced because of highway improvements comprising new central island, road gullies, footpath crossing and re-surface of the main road and new road marking works which are anticipated to take until 1 September 2026 to be completed. This is 24 hour daily road closure. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in that part of White Post Road/ Banbury Road from the A4260 slip road. Exemptions are included for emergency vehicles, the Works and for access to property. Access will be maintained for cyclists and pedestrians. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when and where the measures are in force. The alternative route for traffic is via Bankside, Hightown Road, A4260 and vice versa. This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T18304/AC)

Notice is hereby given that Oxfordshire County Council, in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, has made a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order on, as detailed below:
Nature of Restriction: Road Closure
Location: Quarry Road, Hornton, Oxfordshire
Reason: demolish and rebuild carriageway chamber
Duration: Starting on 29/09/2026 00:00
The anticipated completion date is 01/10/2026 23:59

(Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders have a maximum duration of 18 months, or 6 months for footpaths, bridleways, cycle tracks and byways that are open to all traffic).
Access: Access will be maintained for emergency service vehicles and for properties within the closed section of road where reasonably practicable.
Suggested Alternative Route: Diversion Horley Path Road, Stratford Road A422, Stratford Road A422, Hornton Lane, Street From Hornton To Bush Hill, Wroxton Lane, Quarry Road and vice versa
