(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over the following length of roads:
I. Nelson Street, Lancaster from its junction with Robert Street to its junction with Monmouth Street
II. Bulk Street at its junction with Nelson Street.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 0800 hours on Monday 3rd August 2026 until 1800 hours on Sunday 16th August 2026 or until completion of the works within this period.
4. Alternative routes for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:-
I. Neslon Street – St Peters Road – Quarry Road – Robert Street and Vice Versa.
II. Bulk Street – Moor Lane – A6 Great John Street – A6 Dalton Square – Nelson Street. (one way)
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow safe completion of new drainage works and connections to be carried out.
