What is happening?

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE
KING EDWARD STREET, SHIREBROOK
WHEN: 09 August 2026 (09:30 to 15:30).
WHERE: King Edward Street, Shirebrook between its Jct. with Sookholme Road to its Jct. with Victoria Street.
REASON: To facilitate highway remedial works.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: B6407 King Edward Street, Market Street, Sookholme Road and vice versa.
Access will be maintained, whenever reasonably possible, on the affected length of road. The road will re-open as soon as the work is finished. This may be earlier than advertised. Anyone needing further information should ring Call Derbyshire on 01629 533190. The County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to prohibit its use by traffic.
