THE WOLVERHAMPTON CITY COUNCIL
(MERRIDALE STREET WEST) (TEMPORARY
PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Wolverhampton City
Council propose to make an Order under Section 14(1)(a)
of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as substituted by
the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991,
prohibiting vehicles from proceeding on the following
stretches of road:
l Merridale Street West closed from opposite property 2 to
its junction with Zoar Street. It is anticipated that the
closure will operate from 3 August 2026 until
3 February 2028.
l 3 way lights on Zoar Street from its junction with
Merridale Street West, in place between 3 August 2026
and 12 August 2026 only.
The Order may operate for a maximum period of eighteen
months, but it is anticipated that the works will be
undertaken between the dates specified above.
The diversion route is: Upper Zoar Street, Lea Road,
Bristol Street, Ashland Street and vice versa.
The Order is required to facilitate demolition and
redevelopment works by Keon Homes.
