The Council proposes to reduce the 60 mph speed limit on a section of the A766 Carlops Road to 30 mph as it approaches Penicuik. Details may be examined from 23 July to 14 August 2026 at Libraries, at www.tellmescotland.gov.uk or from david.chambers@midlothian.gov.uk.
Any person wishing to object to the proposed Order should send details of the grounds of objection in writing, quoting reference TO/R5.3.198, to The Legal Services Manager, Midlothian Council, Fairfield House, 8 Lothian Road, Dalkeith EH22 3AA or to legal@midlothian.gov.uk, to arrive not later than 14 August 2026.
THE MIDLOTHIAN COUNCIL (POMATHORN ROAD, PENICUIK) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE)

Notice is hereby given that Midlothian Council has made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which is that for a temporary period to facilitate Scottish Water embankment repair works, Pomathorn Road, Penicuik, will be closed from Pomathorn Bank to the Industrial estate. The Order shall have effect on 3 August 2026 and shall remain in force up to and including 23 October 2026. Pedestrian access will be maintained. Alternative routes for general vehicular traffic will be clearly sign posted.
THE MIDLOTHIAN COUNCIL (LASSWADE ROAD, ESKBANK) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE)

Notice is hereby given that Midlothian Council has made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which is that for a temporary period to facilitate full carriageway/footway resurfacing and the installation of a raised zebra crossing, together with all incidental works, Lasswade Road will be closed at its junction with Captains Gardens. The Order has effect on 3 August 2026 and shall remain in force up to and including 16 August 2026. Pedestrian access will be maintained. Alternative routes for general vehicular traffic will be clearly sign posted.
THE MIDLOTHIAN COUNCIL (DOBBIES ROAD, BONNYRIGG) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE)

Notice is hereby given that Midlothian Council has made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which is that for a temporary period to facilitate SGN mains renewal works, Dobbies Road will be closed from opposite the access to The Old Rectory, St Leonards to its junction with Polton Road. The Order has effect on 29 July 2026 and shall remain in force up to and including 19/08/2026. Pedestrian access will be maintained. Alternative routes for general vehicular traffic will be clearly sign posted.
