Stroud District - Multiple Temporary Road Closures due to Utility Works

What is happening?

GLOUCESTERSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

TEMPORARY CLOSURE 401272 COWSWELL LANE, BUSSAGE (CHALFORD PARISH) STROUD DISTRICT

Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the 401272 Cowswell Lane, Bussage from its junction with The Ridge to its junction with The Avenue for a distance of approximately 100 metres. The reason for the said closure is for gas mains replacement works.

The said road is expected to be closed from 27th July 2026 until 21st August 2026 only. However, if the said works are not completed by this date the Order may remain in force for up to eighteen months or until the said works have been completed, whichever is sooner.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE 407537 DEVERAUX ROAD (EBLEY PARISH) STROUD DISTRICT

Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the 407537 Deveraux Road from outside of the property known as ‘Number 24’ to outside of the property known as ‘Number 20’ for a distance of approximately 20 metres. The reason for the said closure is for works by Severn Trent Water.

The said road is expected to be closed from 27th July 2026 until 29th July 2026 only. However, if the said works are not completed by this date the Order may remain in force for up to eighteen months or until the said works have been completed, whichever is sooner.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF VARIOUS ROADS (MINCHINHAMPTON PARISH) STROUD DISTRICT

Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the lengths of road as detailed in the Schedule below.

The reason for the said closures is for works on behalf of BT Openreach.

The said roads are expected to be closed, between 08:00hrs until 18:00hrs each day, on a rolling programme commencing 27th July 2026 where the presence of approved signage will indicate whether the said closures are in force. Further advance warnings of dates/times will be displayed on site prior to the said closures taking effect. This Order may permit the said closures in any order, or simultaneously as required. It is anticipated all works will be completed by 31st July 2026.

Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, has made an Order under the relevant provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of 401279 Burcombe Road, from outside of the property known as ‘The Firs’ to its junction with Middle Hill for a distance of approximately 64 metres.

The reason for the said closure is for works on behalf of BT Openreach.

The said road is expected to be closed on the 27th July 2026 only. However, if the said works are not completed by this date the Order may remain in force for up to eighteen months or until the said works have been completed, whichever is sooner.

Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the B4058 Horsley Hill Road from its junction with Downend to its junction with Narrowcut Lane for a distance of approximately 545 metres.

The reason for the said closure is for gas mains replacement works.

The said road is expected to be closed from 7th August 2026 until 29th October 2026 only. However, if the said works are not completed by this date the Order may remain in force for up to eighteen months or until the said works have been completed, whichever is sooner.

Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the 401327 Thrupp Lane Road from outside of the property known as ‘No. 124’ to outside of the property known as ‘No.142 Thrupp lane’ for a distance of approximately 90 metres.

The reason for the closure is for electricity pole installation works.

The said road is expected to be closed between 08:00hrs and 18:00hrs on 7th August 2026. However, if the said works are not completed by this date the Order may remain in force for up to eighteen months or until the said works have been completed, whichever is sooner.

The said road is expected to be closed from 10th August 2026 until 11th August 2026. However, if the said works are not completed by this date the Order may remain in force for up to eighteen months or until the said works have been completed, whichever is sooner.
